We have an no-kill animal shelter here in San Antonio that costs little to nothing ($20 I think) to adopt. And, you walk out with the animal in about 15 minutes. Plus, they give you a bag of food, a coupon for a free vet check, and tickets to Sea World. Can't beat that......

No argument here. I would love it if the animal rights wing nuts carried half as much about children.

It's not to say we shouldn't love our beloved pets but since when do human babies merit the same level of importance as animals and in some minds, not even...

Thoughtful post.

ASPCA was a great marketing campaign to tug at the heart. Cannot fault them for that, my only point of disagreement with you.

Liked your explanation of animal welfare vs animal activist and agree with it. Wanted to add that animals should be treated humanely.

An argument could be made that they are given better healthcare than people in Great Britain.

I was watching an almost unwatchable movie called Happy Endings the other day where the pc trifecta of homosexuality, illegals, and pro-choice folks were all elevated to near martyr and hero status in separate vignettes. Reference was made to the fetus in a woman (played by Maggie Hyllen.., er, Jake's sister) seeking an abortion. The abortion seeker corrected the counselor (Lisa Kudrow?) & said the term "baby" should not be used. The counselor falls all over herself apologizing & repeatedly assuring the patient that she was in fact pro-choice... blah blah blah... No mention was made that the "fetus" implanted was Tom Arnold's. That alone should have been enough to sway prolife folks to change their minds.

Having said that, I wonder how upset that cavalier crowd would be if animal fetuses were referred to & cruelly discarded in a similar fashion?

Yes, yes. I can see you have been liberally traumatized. I prescribe watching eight minutes of Bill O'Reilly. But be careful of overdose. Nausea and vomiting are typical side effects of this treatment.

I couldn't finish the Happy Endings movie, Brewha. Can't watch the pretending to be unbiased & "self-deprecating" O'Reilly long-term either nor the blowhard, establishment Limbaugh or one trick pony leprechaun Shaun.

On the other hand MSNBC is mental sludge & I DO enjoy the oft brilliant David Horowitz and Michael Savage very much however. Their minds dwarf the left's IMHO.

Of course if you want the real birds eye low down on politics, no place tells it like they do on Cbid.
