San Fran is having a phenomenal turnaround too...

Does that mean pelosi is brilliant or something?

Or does it just mean the $200k/year salaries the current tech boom are bringing in are pulling up tax revenues.

What the hell 'turnaround' are you speaking of? City... possibly. The state? Hell no.

The city is definitely doing well... Real estate prices are up...places that were 300k last year are 400-450k now. Rents are all wayyyyy up, I'm paying $400/mo more than neighbors who moved just a year and a half before me.

There is lots of money flowing into SF right now, with lots of new jobs.

I've also heard that the state has managed to pull itself out of the hole it was in (here's an article)

This isn't EARTH SHATTERING because I was able to find several news sources that have articles on Wisconsin's Budget Surplus. Also, this is a PROJECTED Budget Surplus. I agree that it should be banked to see if it actually exists. Also, Wisconsin's unemployment rate for Oct. 2013 was 6.5% which is decreasing as is Illinois' (a democratic governed state). Wouldn't really want to live in either state (too cold & high taxes).
