While my health issue is serious it certainly does not compair to the family losses and severe health issue other posters have in their families.

I am having a heart valve repair and a procedure to eliminate atrial fibrillation this Friday.

This forum has allowed me to take mind off of this Friday for short period's of time.

I wanted to thank all posters and respondents for that.

Piece of cake!

Scary I know, I had my aortic replaced 6 years ago, are they going to do it lathroscopically? I'm sure I didn't spell that correctly!

At first I was very concerned until I realized they do these every day, twice a day. Quite common surgery if you can belive that. I even watched a video of a valve being stitched in! YIKES!

I think the scariest thing for me was where would I be when I am on the heart/lung machine?

Prayers sent, good luck for sure and do remember that this is what these guys do for a living, they will get it done and you will be on the road to recovery in no time.

Good luck with the procedure, Bud!

My Mother had a Mitral Valve repaired many years ago - with no complications whatsoever. Techniques and procedures have only gotten better since then.

Don't let worries about the surgery overwhelm you. You'll be out playing soccer with the kids again when Spring finally breaks!

Prayers for you. I had my aortic valve replaced about 4 years ago. I now have the mechanical valve. Mine was done open heart though.

If I can answer any questions, feel free to reach out.

I can tell you, I felt 15 years younger after recovery. I was 35 when I had my surgery.
