I loved Jaime telling Tommen that he'll make sure he stays ok, considering he's 0-3 in making sure kings stay ok.
Tywin is definitely trying to guide Tommen before Cersei can get her claws into him. The main concern for Tywin now is locking down the rule, because the Lannisters have power through the Baratheon children. Should something happen to Tommen, it would strengthen Stannis' claim, as many would prefer an uncle over a daughter. Plus Myrcella is in Dorne.
The Littlefinger thing is definitely interesting. He had a big thing for Catelyn Stark and cannot be happy with what happened to her. If his "rescue" of Sansa (Tyrion's wife) becomes public, he loses support of the Lannisters and the Crown, which is where is has amassed all of his power from so far. He really has no military or banners to call should they revoke his lordship, so it seems like this is a very risky play for him.
