Yep . . .
Gus Grissom flew over 100 combat missions in the Korean War. He is famously known for screwing the pooch on Liberty Bell 7, but when the craft was recovered in 1999, tests showed that he didn't blow the hatch.
He became the 2nd US Astronaut to fly into space twice with Gemini 3 on the Unsinkable Molly Brown.
In short, Gus Grissom was a bad-ass of the highest order.
Ed White performed the first American space-walk on Gemini 4.
Roger Chaffee flew a U.S. Navy reconnaissance aircraft which took the pictures of Soviet missiles in Cuba which President Kennedy used on television on October 22, 1962.
All three of these men are America Heroes.
