By the way if Ditka was in a cage fight with Harbaugh I'm not sure who would win. My money would likely go on Ditka for sentimental reasons.

LeBron is the best player right now, even though he may not be the go-to guy in a clutch situation. He is in the top 10 ever.

He does not have enough rings to be top 10. Look at the other 9 you would list and see how many rings they have. The only other top 10 with few rings would be Wilt. He would have had many more if the Celtics were not do utterly dominant. The Heat have no rivals of that caliber. Of course his story isn't finished. By the end of his career he could have 4 or more rings. Then I would call him top 10. I do agree that he is by far the best player in the league with Kobe's recent decline.

If that is the measurment, Wade is better than him. Same number of years, more rings. That may even make chalmers his equal. I'd have to look at the roster.

Mis read your post, but will not delete mine just to prove I am an ass and know it.

I understand the "ring" debate. I find myself on either side of the argument on this issue a lot.

Marino has zero rings. Jim Kelly has zero rings. You saying neither of them is top 10? If so, I gotta call bull****.

Karl Malone? No rings. He ain't one of the all time greats? Once again... BS.

Trent friggin' Dilfer has a ring. It's a team sport. TEAM. Lebron is a TEAM player. He dishes, he defers, he defends. Michael defended when he wanted to, never deferred and rarely dished out an assist. The players around him were not better because of him, they were better because everyone had to focus on him.

If Lebron starts playing selfish, he could be a lot more dominant. But that isn't how he plays.

Oh... lets talk Peyton Manning. 1 ring, two losses. His brother? 2 rings, no losses.

By your standards, Eli is better than Peyton. No... fuggin... WAY. Peyton Manning is one of the all time best QB's ever.

Plus... Lebron got Cleveland... CLEVELAND!... to the finals with NO help. Mike couldn't even get there until they got him help.

Jordan carried his teams and never ever had the showing James did in those finals. James quit.

Some of Jordan's teams were better than others but I never saw him quit. If the team was good enough to reach the finals.......

Easy for you and I to say. We don't have the talent he has in his little finger. I've never had leg cramps, so I don't know what to say about them. I have had cramps in my feet and they are excruciating.

I drink a lot of water, now. In fact, if I ain't drinking beer, I am drinking water. Rarely drink soda or juice, milk only with cereal, and other than water... gatorade.

Jordan never even got to the finals till he had Pippen to help him. Lebron made it to the finals with a team from Cleveland! Jordan had Pippen AND Rodman on three of those championships as well, and the best coach and system (with the best players for that system) EVER. I would take Rodman over the soft ass Bosh anyday too BTW.

As far as cramping goes any of you ladies ever played sports or suffered from cramping while doing so? Not fun at all. I will give him a pass cause I know how that goes and it hurts like hades and you CANNOT play while you are doing so. Also was the first game of the series and not a critical win.

If we are title counting here Big Shot Bob Horry is in the top ten of all NBA players and would be #1 in the modern era.

MACS, to me the rings do matter. I'm not saying if you don't have rings you aren't great, just that I don't consider you top 10 unless there was an incredibly dominant team that kept you from getting there. In Malone's case that would be Jordan's Bulls. In Peyton Mannings case that would be Bradys Patriots. If I was picking great quarterbacks I would start with Montana and Brady.

There are certainly many other factors that determine a players greatness. To me the reason the the rings matter is because the greatest players play great in the biggest games.

He turned it into...1 really good guy surrounded by sub-great players. Ballhogs is what we used to call them. You ALL knew them too.

The last great team to win the trophy was the Bad Boys...Boston gave them a great run too!
