Outdoor concert about to start. Me and the wife are sitting in the middle about 50 feet from the stage.

Don't know it it was for keeps, but Rick Nielsen just handed his yellow twin neck caraciture guitar to a little girl about six years old. He called her up near the stage and handed it down to her.

Cheap Trick was pretty good in their heyday.

They were a big draw in Japan for some reason.

It was a memorable evening, kinda ironic though. As looked around tha audience I saw all these older folks. Then I remembered I was one of them.

Yep. They sold out many huge arenas in their prime. I doubt there were more than a few hundred people at this show. It was at a small water park. There was no event specific advertising at all. I happened to hear a spot listing the summer concert series. They mentioned them as if they were another garage band. That was the only ad I saw for them and that was about a month ago.

Cool rock 'n roll band for an Irish band before the heavy metal scene. Saw them once at the old Stanley Theatre in Pittsburgh (no longer there) when they opened for Nazareth. It was the 2nd concert I had ever been to at age 15. All I can say is smoking laws where not enforced back then. Jail Break was their huge song then:

Was a huge Nazareth fan.

Saw Cheap Trick in the early '80s when they were hot stuff. Possibility the loudest concert I ever attended but was a really good show.

Local band out of Rockford,Il.,actually the only band I used to see before they hit it big in the late '70s.Remember seeing them at the Brat Stop in Wi. I'm not the biggest music fan in the world but if you haven't checked out their 1st album I would recommend it,to me by farthest their best!

That would be Thin Lizzy.....not Cheap Trick. I've been a CT fan most of my life. I couldn't tell you how many times I've seen them. Even in their heyday, they still played local Illinois venues like a bar band. Great bunch of guys that never lost a sense of humor in their music.

^Thin Lizzy rocks!

I'd go see Cheap Trick if they came to a fair/festival nearby. I liked the older stuff.

Have seen them twice. Both shows rocked. Both times in the mid-eighties.
