Netherlands to edge Costa Rica, 141-0. It might not be that close.

ya.....if they played 10 times, Netherlands prolly wins 8 or 9.......
but.....they only play once..... today.....
Costa Rica playing with house money......the massive underdog......yet they will be the favorite in the crowd
They will play loose and fast, and may just pull an upset, their forwards are pretty quick.......
Go Costa Rica!
Of the divas I like messi. Complete player.

Ever notice he doesn't flop?
There was a sequence near the Belgian box where 4 Belgian player were mugging him, for like 6 to 8 seconds, and he wouldn't go down, until one of them finally stepped on his ankle and pinned it to the ground, then he fell for the foul call.
95% of the other players in this Cup would have flopped at the first touch..........
He is so deceptive, it's awesome to watch him routinely, and easily, beat double teams.
Do t get me wrong on the Costa Rica game. I would live to see them win as much as if love to see monkeys fly out of 8's buttocks.
End of Regulaton
What a finish!
then insanity...
then goalie switch????
wow
monkeys may be flyin
It was nice to see Robben actually get fouled before he went down.
Would love to see a complete player like Messi humiliate Robben.
Messi is what is right with the sport. Robben is what is wrong.
I also think Robben is what is wrong with soccer, but I have to give him some credit: he plays both offense and defense, and was still hustling on both sides of the ball at the end of extra time. Tremendous motor, speed and skills. Up to the soccer hierarchy to try to reduce or eliminate the obvious attempts to draw fouls. Don't we expect our players to do all they can to win? (Remember Vlade Divac? I loved him when he was a Laker...hated him when he was a King) That's still the ultimate goal of the game, so I don't blame Robben for trying to get an advantage for his side. It'd be nice to have several players like him on the USA team.
Re Messi: he rarely plays defense, unless absolutely necessary, and almost never drifts into his own back third to help the defense. But that's what the Argentine quick-strike counter-attacking style dictates (their defensive seven are amazing), and allows him to be the dynamic offensive soccer player that he is.
I wouldn't want him spending much time on the defensive third.
Has anybody seen my family?
Interesting article about the "best players at the World Cup" as reported by FIFA using their Castro Index system, doesn't have Messi in the top 10. Brazil's D-man David Luiz is in the top spot, followed by James Rodriguez, Karim Benzema, Arjen Robben and Vertonghen.
