Netherlands to edge Costa Rica, 141-0. It might not be that close.

ya.....if they played 10 times, Netherlands prolly wins 8 or 9.......

but.....they only play once..... today.....

Costa Rica playing with house money......the massive underdog......yet they will be the favorite in the crowd

They will play loose and fast, and may just pull an upset, their forwards are pretty quick.......

Go Costa Rica!

A monkey could fly out of 8's ass too but I'm betting on the Netherlands.

Argentina v Belgium has been the best brand of soccer so far in the cup. Two high motor teams. Argentina a set quicker.

Ever notice he doesn't flop?

There was a sequence near the Belgian box where 4 Belgian player were mugging him, for like 6 to 8 seconds, and he wouldn't go down, until one of them finally stepped on his ankle and pinned it to the ground, then he fell for the foul call.

95% of the other players in this Cup would have flopped at the first touch..........

He is so deceptive, it's awesome to watch him routinely, and easily, beat double teams.

Yes I hope Messi can win it cause I like how he plays and imo he is the better team player out of him and Ronaldo. My buddy was telling me yesterday that Barcelona is going to sign Suarez to play with Messi and Neymar.

Messi plays defense as well.

Do t get me wrong on the Costa Rica game. I would live to see them win as much as if love to see monkeys fly out of 8's buttocks.

Did CR even get a shot on goal in regulation?

It was nice to see Robben actually get fouled before he went down.

Would love to see a complete player like Messi humiliate Robben.

Messi is what is right with the sport. Robben is what is wrong.

That was close...would've been a sight to see...wonder what type of monkey it would've been?

I also think Robben is what is wrong with soccer, but I have to give him some credit: he plays both offense and defense, and was still hustling on both sides of the ball at the end of extra time. Tremendous motor, speed and skills. Up to the soccer hierarchy to try to reduce or eliminate the obvious attempts to draw fouls. Don't we expect our players to do all they can to win? (Remember Vlade Divac? I loved him when he was a Laker...hated him when he was a King) That's still the ultimate goal of the game, so I don't blame Robben for trying to get an advantage for his side. It'd be nice to have several players like him on the USA team.

Re Messi: he rarely plays defense, unless absolutely necessary, and almost never drifts into his own back third to help the defense. But that's what the Argentine quick-strike counter-attacking style dictates (their defensive seven are amazing), and allows him to be the dynamic offensive soccer player that he is.

I dunno. Watching messi today he was applying all kinds of pressure that resulted in turnovers. He's not Ronaldo.

I wouldn't want him spending much time on the defensive third.

Messi is a great player and his ability to move with the ball while being surrounded by defenders is phenomenal. No other player I'd rather see with the ball in the attacking third in the final minutes of a tied game.

Interesting article about the "best players at the World Cup" as reported by FIFA using their Castro Index system, doesn't have Messi in the top 10. Brazil's D-man David Luiz is in the top spot, followed by James Rodriguez, Karim Benzema, Arjen Robben and Vertonghen.

That was interesting but had to watch the video to even understand how the ranking system works. Don't exactly think this castrol index amounts to much but I do think that it can give an idea if they are playing well or not. I don't think it can dictate who is the best player on the field really. Luiz had a great game and is playing well but best player in the cup I don't think so. Rodriguez has been more valuable to his team then Luiz for sure. Mueller, Robben, and Messi for that matter also have been more important to each one of their teams imho. I did notice not much in their for goalies and as we have seen with Navas and Howard they can also be the best players on their team.
