Casio for casual time
Tiffany for formal wear (It was a gift for my 40th - a very nice gift, from my sister who happens to work there)
As for the original post/rant. It's probably a watch that is waterproof/water resistant to X meters right?
I tried to get a battery replaced in a watch before at some jewelry place and they wouldn't do it either. Couldn't guarantee that after they cracked the seal to replace the battery that the watch would still be waterproof/resistant or something like that. I don't remember exactly, it was many years ago.
When the battery goes dead, I just buy a new watch.
Who wears watches anymore?

It's really the only acceptable accessory for a man. That is, unless your name is Guido and live in New Joisy.
