See, that's a black and white argument that really doesn't take real life into account. We're talking about teenagers here first off. When you have the school and the sports staff blowing smoke up a kids ass I think it's very easy for those kids to fall into the trap of sports first and quality education maybe 3rd or 4th down the list of priorities. Some of these kids graduate High School and can barely read. But, they can dunk and hit 3 pointers all day long. So, they get a pass from teachers in high school and then in college. It's easy to armchair quarterback what they should do. But, when it's you(some 17 or 18yr old kid) in the middle of the tornado of free grades and free college and God only knows what else these kids get offered, the issue becomes a lot more difficult to judge. At least that's how I see it. /Shrug In a perfect world everyone would do right by these kids and the kids themselves would understand what's going on around them and make sure they do right by themselves. I don't think we live in that world though.
