Tail... You didn't read my post very well. I'm not talking about any sacrifice or any vocal minority (or majority, because they like to whine a lot too these days).

I read your post. You assign some sort of greater challenge for a nonbeliever to find their gusto and get a job. Obviously some form of self flattery, but one that rings hollow.
Most people of faith forge out a life and then might reflect upon it. Without faith, you still find that same life but there is no higher calling or need for reflection. How is that a greater challenge?

It's lucky for all that I'm a believer and not an atheist. That threat of eternal damnation is probably all that keeps me from killing a whole lot of stupid people.

o:) 😇 😇

And therein lies the problem. If the fear of damnation or the ire of a god are the only things that give you a sense of morality, then you've proved my point. Carry on.

Tail...if you think this is about working or anything simple and mundane as that, you simply missed the point of the conversation. I'm on my phone right now and don't have the patience to spell it out typing with two fingers.

wrong again....

Even if one doesn't believe in a literal interpretation of the Bible, particularly the New Testament, living a Christ like life is essential for a civil society.
Like,
Love your neighbor as you love yourself
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone
Turn the other cheek...
etc,,,

without the Christian ethos that the majority of the world's believers observe things would be MUCH worse than they are now.

But you are a contrarian

That being said,,,

eat me,,,

wheel,,

Speaking like a true xtian.

having gone through Hebrew School growing up, I became aware in my youth that whether there was a God or not, I had personal values and morals that matched and went beyond the Ten Commandments I learned of from the...ahem, pre-Christian OLD TESTAMENT! A Rabbi told me the entire underlying message of the OT/5 Books of Moses/Torah was "The Golden Rule"...do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

I try to live that way on a daily basis, not because I am told to or scared not to, but because it is clearly the right way to be. This I know innately, maybe genetically somehow.

My personal belief system aside (it is a work in progress, in constant state of flux), I "naturally" believe I should not murder, steal, etc without an organized or disorganized religion with an omnipotent all-knowing deity hovering above it keeping me in line. Somehow I have been able to find purpose, honor, and reason to do right without worrying much about the discussion of God vs No God that is in my head.

Believers can not understand atheists finding that purpose because they are unable to empathize with what could be atheists' motivation, and the same is true of those mocking believers.

Man's law wouldn't mean much without the fear of etertnal damnation and stuff.... 😟

Religion = $$$

I am a firm supporter of Capitalism, as long as they pay taxes like everyone else, and businesses don't discriminate. With that being said, I never want to visit Indiana again.

not what I heard...sorry

Ya... just an opinion.... I choose to pray but a compelling theory of how religion started was to install fear amonst the peoples.... just someone elses opinion tho... 😟

true. But I'm equally afraid of life in prison! HA!

True... true... 😟

Wait... I get it. You're gay, so it's impossible for you to follow God's law, so it's better for you to deny His existence. Gotcha.

Seriously, though... if you do not believe, that's all well and good. My previous comment about killing stupid people was tongue in cheek, obviously. I choose to believe. What galls me about non-believers is that they somehow believe they're smarter.

We all know Victor thinks he knows everything, and you seem like you do too. Newsflash... I'd bet I'm smarter than you. I know I'm more handsome... so all you got left is income. And money can't buy you love, you stupid, ugly sonofab*tch.

C'mon!! That was hilarious!!

Gee and golly, I don't know how we'll ever get along now knowing this.......bwahahahahah

NO....our leaders disagree because as I've already stated they lost their backbone over fear of lost revenue. They should have held out to see the real reaction / fallout over this because I think they would have survived just fine.
It's you and other supporters of this all out ****fest who are changing our laws so you can lick " scrote " as you put it in public.....congratulations, you won't have to wait long I'm sure. This was never over ANYTHING other than becoming a " Protected Class of citizenry....and we both know it!!!! Now go lick some scrote

Eat.
Work.
Educate yourself.
Build a home.

Mundane stuff like that?
None of that requires faith. Yet you see yourself as a hero because you've done it without.

If you want to change directions then go back and tell us which posts you didn't mean. Perhaps you were just kidding, or chose words poorly. But you said them. With both fingers.

Yes.
The only thing that gives religious people morality is the ire of a god.

You sure is smart.
