Been listening most of the day.....jury is still out...I like that they have refused to get pinned down to a 'style'...but on the other hand, that makes it sort of hard to characterize their body of work as something that really 'works for me'......eclectic much?


Familiar with Maktub? Possible that I was too close to (or familiar with) them and not objective, but I firmly believe that they were unfairly neglected by the general public - for no apparent reason. Sure, Reggie Watts achieved some fame, but more for being unique (talented, no doubt, but unique) than for his musical chops.

You HAVE to see them live at least once in your lifetime...it's like having sex for the first time.

A great bunch of guys and it's been an honor to have met them all several times.

Their later releases become more and more disjointed and what you call "eclectic". Good call on Maktub...don't recall anyone here talking about them...but that's the fringe area that I listen to...A LOT!

Been digging a local band that's making good lately too called Dropin' Pickup...they kick ass.

I often like bands where the greatest talent is found in the bass player.....that guy rocks





Was listening without watching...I had to peak to see if the lead singer was hot...I got a little creeped out at myself...lol.....don't know why that affects the sound to me from there on, but I'm shallow like that. I like them, though....they need a good producer or engineer to tighten things up and give their songs a little better direction or definition. Certainly show promise.

I just read that members of Mudvayne and Skrape are getting together with some output due this summer. I'm really psyched for that - "Audiotopsy" is what they're calling themselves. I thought both of those bands had great promise that was never quite realized

Waaay cool about Mudvayne...saw them live twice...Ryan is a BEAST on bass. Look forward to the new material

I'm unaware of any infighting or hostility in Mudvayne...just thought they were tired of the touring...I mean an almost 3 year world tour has to take a toll.
