Did you snopes that..?? 😕

I found the wedding photos of my Gr. Grandparents taken over 100 years ago. They were the size of a postage stamp. 3 photos each, that looked like something you'd get out of a photobooth. But, they were tiny, and pock marked and stained. I cleaned them up in photoshop, and blew the photo up to I think it was 5 x 15 ... It is nicely framed and very cool.

Did you Photoshop in a Confederate flag?

(That's a joke)

You know... you may find this amusing. But every time you say something like "they probably photoshopped them all", there's some moron sitting at his monitor reading it and nodding his head. Misinformation spreads because people aren't willing to go after it.

True, true, like saying contemporary elections were changed by disenfranchised voters, but hey you going to outlaw free speech or have the government approve all images?

It's 2016, would anyone explicitly trust a photograph or a video? Oh, wait, there was another add for a UFO TV show and another for a 'Squash TV show, never mind.

My apologies, it would take more beer than any human could safely consume to turn this one into of Jacks excellent photos.

God dammit Gene...

http://m.snopes.com/clinton-gore-92-confederate/

It's like you want people to get this misinformation. You realize every time some crap like this is posted some idiot sees the false information and never actually sees that it's false (or in drafter's case cares that it's false)... Then they send it on to all their friends in an email, it circulates a while and ends up back here 5 years later in the same dumb post.

victor809 wrote:

Snopes said "probably" false.

A denial from a Clinton campaign manager.

I'm not saying it's real or fake.
I just find it funny that snopes would use an extremely biased opinion to come to that conclusion.

Two things...
1- dammit Gene, I told you there was a moron who would fall for it, and lo and behold Klingon believes it.

2- tail, see my response above. There are other details other than just their statement which make it very unlikely this would have been an official button.

Yep, ALL the images and examples of the Confederate Flag on Clinton election buttons are fake.

Only a hillary-loving liberal hack would try to ridicule the satire of the image. Who really cares if it's 'fake' or 'real'? It's funny.
It's not a far stretch to think that a corrupt family from Arkansas wouldn't have displayed a confederate flag at least once in their lifetime. Probably grew up as kids waving them during town parades. Who knows?
When did Snopes become the truth of all truths?? Before photoshop there was a little thing called an airbrush.

Not only is the image funny, but the fight over it is hysterical.

Yup, and suspected of bias. (Giggling, I felt like a democrat party smear operator posting this line.)

To be fair, Snopes itself says this about the owners of the site:

Barbara Mikkelson is a Canadian citizen and as such cannot vote in U.S. elections, register an affiliation with a U.S. political party, or donate to any U.S. political campaign or candidate. David Mikkelson is an American citizen whose participation in U.S. politics has never extended beyond periodically exercising his civic duty at the ballot box. As FactCheck confirmed in April 2009, David is a registered independent who has never donated to, or worked on behalf of, any political campaign or party. The Mikkelsons are wholly apolitical, vastly preferring their quiet scholarly lives in the company of their cats to any political considerations.

1 - The image wasn't presented as satire. It was presented as "fact". In fact, there are still idiots who believe it is "fact".
2 - Who knows... you're answer to "This picture didn't actually happen" is "who knows, maybe they had one once in their lives!"... If I posted a photoshopped picture of you torturing a dog, do you really thing the appropriate defense of that picture would be "who knows, it isn't a far stretch to think he may have kicked a dog once in his life!".
3 - Snopes isn't "the truth of all things" but they are an aggregator of information which can point one to the truth. You're supposed to be smart enough to not just read the "fact" "false" or whatever, and actually read the why.

Your defense of this photoshop job is exactly what is wrong with the nutjob radicals in our country. You seem to think that because it fits your view of Hillary as a hypocrite, that it's okay to support actual false information as if it were fact. You're part of the problem in our country, not the solution.

Let's say for a moment this 40+ year old photo is real. Haven't you said on numerous occasions that people "can" change their viewpoint on things?

I can't stand the woman, but I could care less that she had a copy of the battle flag over 40 years ago. Neither do I care that her husband used one over 20 years ago.

Do I think she was a George Wallsce supporter?
No.

People are getting too worked up about the damn flag

I understand your point Jet. The problem isn't the actual presence of the flag. The problem is the simple passing of something which is false as real. And an even more insidious problem is the "half-backing down" bs people then use when they say something like "It was just satire"... it's bs. I don't even particularly like this woman, but I see this bs coming out of those fringe sites, and idiots believe it. And then they use it as some sort of proof that such and such politician is a hypocrite.... but the entire argument is based on falsehood.

Our goal as a society should be to become smarter. To understand more about the world. To have more facts, real facts, real truth. Our goal shouldn't be to decrease the amount of knowledge our fellow man has simply because you think the falsehoods match up better with your goals or ideas of a person or group.

People who distribute this are making our whole world worse.

The photo looks real, and there's no way in hell that I'm going to read all the reasons why you think it's fake because . . .

# 1 - I don't have that kind of time or energy to invest in something so stupid as a battle flag in a 40+ year old photo, and . . .

# 2 - refer to # 1 . . .

It's fake jet. Even cacman agrees it's fake. His excuse is simply that it fits how he thinks of Clinton, so it's ok. There are a number of other photos from this photoshoot which show the same wall without the flag. Nobody with any credibility believes it is real.

It's funny you say you don't have the time... but it takes no time to realize it's fake. It takes more time to convince the idiots that it's fake:
"One contributor to the blog Little Green Footballs wrote, "5 seconds of Google image search showed that the flag was never in any of the previous images, particularly this one tagged by Getty Images at Huffington Post in 2012.""
