Ol Gal went to dog heaven yesterday afternoon. I was pretty sure it would happen when I posted their pic yesterday morning. Wife and I had been feeding her by hand for the past 10 months. Her 15 years finally caught up with her.

Thanks for the unconditional love and companionship.

I got a pup that's getting old now too, I hate thinking about the day.

I'm very sorry to hear she passed. The pic you posted yesterday is a great pic.

So sorry for your loss.

I once saw a quote that said: Dogs are angels without wings. (Not sure if that only applies to while they are down here but, now she does have wings.)

Dogs are family and just as much as much as a child than anyone realizes. To have loved a dog is to have loved the best love ever. I'm sure she misses you just as much as you miss her.

Wishing you, your wife, and your other furbabies comfort in a difficult time.

So sorry.
I'm sure she's at the Rainbow Bridge telling stories of the wonderful life you gave her.

Sorry to hear about her. Surely she will be missed.

I've got a rescued dobie who is about 8 or 9 years old. We've had him for 7 years. As soon as I walk in the door he runs to my side and nudges my hand until I reach down and rub his head. As soon as I sit down on the couch he jumps up and puts his head in my lap.

Thanks for the kind words and thoughts. It is truly amazing how attached one can get to our four legged friends.

My wife and I have been doing Norwegian Elkhound Rescue for over 20 years.
She was actually the Rescue Coordinator for the Norwegian Elkhound Club of America, (the national club), for a few years.
It's so rewarding going back and doing "follow-ups" on the dogs we've placed and seeing them living wonderful lives in their new homes. I wish MORE people would have the mindset that you and your wife have .

Thank you, and once again, my condolences for your loss.

Hey Burner... I'm thinking Louie Dog needs a friend and want another Husky... Huskies are hard enough to train... Harder with a rescue?
