Illegals can't get welfare? That's like saying immigrants can't get into our country without a visa.

Undocumented workers pay taxes? Maybe half true. Remember, the employer can't hire an illegal, so most of this is done under the table.

Public benefits do indeed go to the illegals.
Why do you think the old women cross the border illegally? It isn't to pick lettuce and roof your house.

And throw that 5 year crap out the window.

Lazy Americans know how to work the system, and so do the illegal immigrants.
It's so common that it's almost the exception when they don't.

While she speaks, she seems to look down almost constantly....as if she's avoiding any eye contact. I know it's a small thing, but made her look dishonest to me.

Actually, I'd say that since they're here illegally, by definition they DO steal.

And yes, I recognize that many businesses profit from illegals. I wish those business owners would be prosecuted more often. I have refused to hire contractors who hire illegals (one guy actually bragged about it, while describing how the workers fake documents covered his butt if he were investigated). The hiring of illegals is as much to blame for the influx as our social services are.

And I'm not mad about "welfare" as an entity.
Rather, I'm mad at the welfare cheats. I'm mad at the fraud.
The rules should require able bodies to work.
The local agencies shouldn't tell people how to maximize dollars (for instance, an ex employee "separated" from his live-in wife and daughter in order to keep her on welfare and get the "free" health care. He wasn't very bright, but was told how to do this by the local social services office).

Who ever said that stocking a shelf at Walmart would earn a living wage?
Don't work at Walmart and collect welfare.
Work at Walmart and flip burgers. Or else train for a skill. Don't expect Uncle Sam to make rules to save your lazy azz.

How much is flipping hamburgers worth, even if you do it at McDs? You raise the min wage again and again.. McD's figures out how to automate flipping burgers and BAM There goes the entry level jobs for people with no skills, teenagers and poorer people get HAMMERED.

Do you think that if we didn't have a min wage, that people are so dense that they could not figure out that they should not take a job that pays $1/hr?? The business would HAVE to raise their salaries to attract people of better quality. This happens in expensive cities throughout the nation. A business figures out they can't get good applicants unless they offer higher than what the min wage is anyway.

Min wage hikes hurt the poor and low skilled workers and most of these min wage jobs are held by people getting their first jobs.

We are talking less than 5% of the 16 and over workforce here, when we talk min wage.

This is what should be taught, you get a min wage job when you are starting out and then you strive to work your way up and THEN you consider having a family.
