'Ol DED and the wifey have been hitched 25 years in April and planning a trip to the Keys. Probably fly into Miami and work south slowly a few days. Never been, so any thoughts and suggestions on areas to stay and things to see are appreciated. We will most likely stay in B&Bs wherever possible.

Sent you a PM. In Miami, I went to the My Cigars "factory". They have a few rollers there but mainly just for shipping. However, the VP of sales when I went was an awesome guy. We sat in his office for well over an hour smoking and telling stories.

About half way down the Keys, there is a cigar shop on your left. Very non-descript. It is a pretty good store and the prices aren't too bad. No lounge or atmosphere.

Definitely take your own supply of cigars. In KW there isn't a great selection. If you do find what you want, you get it at tourist rates. Most of the places there, if they have an outdoor area, allow cigar smoking.

The Porch is a craft beer place and you can sit on the porch and have a smoke. It is pretty nice.

I have plenty more info.

Snappers or the lauralei on islamorada for some nice waterside eats.

Gilbert's on the north end of key largo (right before the bridge onto the islands) as well. Good live music under a tiki hut

The dolphin research center is pretty cool as well as the sea turtle rescue center on marathon.

Calle ocho in miami, tatuaje, my father, gran habano, and many others. The shop an earlier post mentioned is called "cigars in the keys" on the left as your heading south, the entire shop is a humidor, even have Spanish cedar ceiling grid tiles. As stated, tourist prices, but worth a stop, owner and his wife are good people. Got a good deal there after looking around a bit

Counting a 5 month speed bump Cindy & I have been married 28 years & 3 Months. The very best advice I can give is to communicate, and be very honest. You'd be surprised how quickly a mole hill can turn into a mountain.

Oh, in memory of wheel, the sex does get much better as you get older especially if you get tired of the same old same old and experiment a little. 🤐

Born and raised Key West Conch, long since left the island but still make it home often. As others have said, bring your own stash, lots of overpriced tourist trap cigar shops up and down Duval Street. There is a decent shop in Islamorada, on the left as you head down US1 from Florida City. There are a number of decent places to have a smoke. I particularly like Meson De Pepe, sort of a touristy cuban/spanish restaraunt down on Mallory Square. Food is pretty good, drinks are solid, but has a cool outside bar right on the cruise ship let-out. Late night, once the cruise ship has left, and the day tourists are all gone, its a cool spot, usually live music, often Cuban rhythms, outdoors, roosters running around, great overhead banyan trees, and you can smoke at the bar. They have a decent cigar shop in there also. Just a cool spot to kill a night, or wander on.

I could tell you a 100 things to do and 50 places to eat and drink but that aint really the point of the Keys. Just come, keep the plans light, eat and drink too much, have some cigars, and make sure to stay out late on Duval, we usually just begin to trully party when the rest of the country goes to sleep. Start at Meson, work your way down Duval, end up at he groovy transvestite bars Aquag and The Beach late night, finish with a champagne and key lime pie at La Te Da. Wife will think you are a God.

There is also a good cigar bar on the Atlantic (less crowded) end of Duval across from the brothel, always fun to have a stick and a beer on the porch and watch the Johns go in and out.

Just my 2cents....welcome to my island.
