tho many may hate the Boston Globe, last week they published stats that said since 9/11 the average yearly number of Americans killed by terrorists is 4. Are you willing to give up any freedoms at all to change that if you knew the average number of Americans killed by objects falling out of/off of buildings is over 600 since then?

Are the people who died rescuing, or are still dieing from breathing all the crap from the wreckage counted?

Are the people who have died in the Middle East fighting terror since 9-11 counted in the 4 number?

Guess they would not want to add the 2,976 killed on 911, may skew the yearly average.

Burner and I do not always see things the same way, but there has never been disrespect. I knew what he meant.

I interpreted the Globe's point to be that there are many fears, do we want to give up freedoms to feel safer? They attempted to underline their stance with the stats.

I feel if we give up rights/freedoms, the terrorists have accomplished their goals.

It's not a new debate.

Oh, there is a threat now. But I look at where it came from. You see I have trouble believing that they would kill themselves to get at us because their God told them too.

And while I am spouting dissension, I agree with Frank's point. When we give up freedom because of terrorists, they win. Of cource I think there are many here that have a vested interest is us giving up our freedoms, So in a way, the terrorists are their friends.

The real problem is that some people think too much about a problem before doing anything to correct it. Some people just want to solve it and get over it. For example; if Obama had been our President in 1945 he would still be considering whether or not to use the bomb on Japan.
