The story

Of life is quicker

Than the wink of an eye

The story of love

Is hello and goodbye

Until we meet again

Was lucky enough to attend Jimi's last show on American soil. Aug. 1, 1970 at the then called Honolulu International Center. Six weeks later we would hear the news of his death.... 😞

July 1970. On their way to Tampa International Airport on Sunday afternoon, Hendrix made a detour to perform at a local jam session in the Men’s Garden Club near the airport. Hey who is that crazy guy on stage?

Saw Hendrix either 68 or 69 at the U of A when I was a junior in high school.

"Ironically, Hendrix, whose fee leads the list at $18,000 ... played to the smallest crowd of the entire weekend. Slated to close out the festival, he didn’t hit the stage until 8:30 AM Monday morning, mostly due to massive rain delays. By the time he erupted into his now-legendary rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner,” only 30,000 -- less than 10% of the festival’s attendees -- remained."

Thanks for the correction.......I think it was $30,000 total for two different gigs.....or just a wrong number.
