We about this on our fishing trip this weekend on the best way to grill our steaks. The general consensus was that you have to have zero taste and a pretty low brain weight if you order a good steak more cooked than Med-rare. 🌫

I must have zero taste and low brain weight.
I order most steaks medium well, and can be very happy if it drifts in either direction.
I say "most" steaks, because some don't lend themselves to being cooked over medium for my palette.
Filet mignon comes to mind. (Give me slow roasted tenderloin over the filet any day). And I've had some nice ostrich steaks that prefer to be served on the lower side of medium.
It's steak. It's all good. Don't over think it.


And for the record, well done does not mean burnt. The difference isn't even subtle. But too many cooks are too lazy to figure that part out so they make disclaimers like in the photo above.
