For your reference, a Cuban Ramon Allones old style band.

I hate to burst your bubble but this is definitely not an old (or new or any kind) Cuban band. Missing the word "Habano" which does appear on all RA old style bands where the number is located.

Buckwheat,
You're going to have to prove that to me......Prior to the embargo in 1962, Cuban cigars were stamped with "made in Havana, Cuba" on the box, not "Heche En Cuba" as they are today.

Even further back, prior to the revolution in 1959, the "pre-Castro" cigars were quite common and hardly any of them mentioned anything on the label about where they were made......they simply said the name of the manufacturer.

Looking at that label, and the one just like it posted the other day, and considering the fact the Ramon Allones brought cigars to us in 1837 after immigrating from Spain, I can only assume that this is a brand name for this particular cigar. Keep in mind that between the revolution and the embargo, the world lost about 80% of the cigars that were being produced and new ones started being made.

It is quite possible that this label is from a cigar that has not been produced for well over 50 years or so. If this is the case, it's worth something. I've seen 30 year old cigars auctioned for upwards into the $5000-$7000 range.

Why would someone "fake" a Cuban, and not put "Habana" on the label? Makes more sense to me that this is an actual label from the days when it was unnecessary to put "habana" or "havana" on it because it was a known already as to where it came from.

Maybe someone else can shed some light?

If this is a rare cigar, where can I take it to be authenticated.

This is definitely not an old style cuban Ramon Allones band. There was another thread that had this posted also. This is a band from a dominican Ramon Allones back in the "boom". They made 3 or 4 sizes and had cameroon wrappers. Decent cigar but never got popular. If it's been well kept it's probably a pretty good cigar considering all the aging.

OK, here is the proof. Go over to CW and look under the cigar reviews. Specifically, Ramon Allones Privada A and they have all of the info on this cigar and band. I'd post a link but it would just get yanked.
