I use wine preserver, a gas that you spray a little into the open wine bottle. The gas is heavier than air so it comes between the air and wine. The wine will easily stay fresh for a week.

I normally just consume the remainder to prevent spoilage.

Cork it back up and put it in the frig. Good for a day or two unless it is an old wine or as long as it is not decanted.

Iff'n' it is a frog wine ... Just say no.

Rogue Red. It's a local blended red that runs about $9, very serviceable for the price not too complex.

for Father's Day barbecue at my house (natch), chilling a bottle of Rene Couly Rose and a bottle of Domaine Sainte-Eugene
"Corbieres" 2013, a red from France but "on the native soil of Fontfroide, near the Mediterranean Sea"

One of my "wine guys" said Oh yeah, great red for chilling. I'll report once emptied.

For hot weather I look for dry wines from Washington like Hogue or some from Finger Lakes region as long as the residual sugar is around 3% or less. If German I look for Troken.

so the barbecue turned into pizza and stuff, and we forgot about that read I had chilling.

opened it (Corbieres) the other night, and probably finishing it tonight. Picked up flavor as it moved from cold to chilled to cool. Good fruit, stays dry, just a little earth and tannins so it was balanced enough for me.

heartier than whites and roses for sure, but sort of a nice way to drink a real red.

I'll seek others over the summer.

Brand new wine coming out soon

I sampled it yesterday with customers and all ordered multiple cases.

Cline Vineyard
Cashmere Black Magic.

It should hit here in the next 30 days. Ask for it....you should be able to get some.

Cline has been a major player in zins for a long time. I've seen and had "cashmeres" a few times as well.

Had the same Corbieres that Frank did, wanted to compare notes. Very good wine , but insipid when to cold. This is a wine that should be drank at traditional room temperature, 57 degrees. Depending on one's refrigerator between 1/2 hour and 1 hour chill, just to the point of being cool. The wine had a dark cherry and blackberry nose. Similar flavors with the addition of a hint of vanilla and a hint of sage.
