The "next big trend" in music has never been talent. Foreigner sold more albums than Led Zeppelin. There are amazing bands, and amazing players, alive and working right now. But, if you follow the "big trends", and the stuff the popular kids like, you'll never hear them...

Can you name a few, please.

Not so fast...Foreigner has sold almost 75 million and Led Zeppelin has more than 200 million in total sales.


Now...the other part about talented people working now...yes there are. If you're lucky you will hear about them.


Mainstream radio is still a pay to play world. Look more at concert receipts than record sales and you'll see the trend. Mr.kardashian says he sells a lot but can't fill arenas. He's sitting at home clicking his own vids and most likely buying his own music to make these wild claims. At the end of the year he won't even be in the top 10 total grossing acts.

For every one signed band performing there's 10 trying to take their job.

On the whole I have to agree with the OP....but there is a band my son follows that IS outstanding called

Umphrey's is solid, but if you're not a jam band type of guy they might nit be your cup of tee.

My forte is more slipknot, five finger, disturbed type genre. But I've been rocking twenty one pilots lately. Mostly listen to 89x radio which is local but on bell media app, or music choice channel 413 on xfinity.
