Being new to this heavenly section of the internet, I just have a simple question regarding trades, specifically, the receipt of a trade.

I want to ensure that the trades I send out are of quality status, is there an unwritten rule regarding what is sent out?

For example, let's say I am trading with someone for the first time, should I send out cigars that are on the higher end? And what constitutes the higher end?

I suppose I am just overthinking this; however, I don't want to be the guy that is known for sending out **** cigars. Just looking for a direction (I know tastes and likes vary).

And for the vets - do you wait to see what is sent, prior to deciding what you are sending in return? Or is it assumed that a noob may not send the best cigars?

Side note: it goes without saying, at least on my end, that sending machine made cigars would be a sin. I figure.

now for a real answer....... if you two agree for a "blind trade" you send what you want, period..... if it's an arraigned trade you send what you agreed to. It's that simple.

That makes sense. I imagine there are horror stories with blind trades.

Send what you like to smoke. Play in the noob pib, theres no expectations there.

While it is better to err on the side of caution, there is a bit of overthinking here. Like Mikey said, send what has been agreed upon and, if some "hitchhikers" or "bodyguards" just happen to ride along, hey, nothing wrong with that! 👍 Keep it simple, keep it within your budget. On the other hand, if you feel that someone is going out of their way to help you out, well, like at a restaurant with excellent service, tip accordingly.

Eventually you'll come up with your own comfortable levels and laugh when you look back at this post.

Much like the hair styles of the 80's I fully imagine to look back at this post in a year or two and shake my head.

We like cigars that are packaged in a fancy box, if it didn't come from a fancy box, it's probably crap.

Until just about a year ago, I assumed the quality of the cigar (prior to having experience in smoking it) was determined by the band. I assumed that the better looking the band, the better the cigar. I was thoroughly disappointed with that thought when I bought a box of **** that had a nice band on it.

Great advice - the bit about sending what I like. It would also help future trades with the same person, as they know what I would enjoy.
