This was taken about 7:00 when we evacuated. I went back about 6 hours later to pick up some clothes and the water was halfway up the oval window on the front door.

Dayum.

Bummer... If it's a slab floor you might be alright... I'm sure it'll take a while tho... 😟

It is a shame but at least they are alright.

God bless you and your family man. El niño has been rough for everyone down south this year. Had a lot of friends and family get flooded out repeatedly over the past two years here in Texas.

Sorry to read your update. As a kid our house flooded but only took 3 1/2 feet, so basically everything below the second sheet of sheet rock had to be torn out. you could see from one end of the house to the other along the floor. Still took a long time to dry out, and likely was never completely right.

Feel for you, guess it's not as much fun canoeing by your house when you aren't 11 and aren't the one paying the bills. Praying for you and your neighbors.

We're counting our blessings as we narrowly escaped a tornado that tore up houses less than 1/8 of a mile away just two days ago. Fortunately all we got was debris from others homes / structures.

... Easy to say when you've got a boat...

We've pretty much moved past the shock stage. Time to pick up the pieces.

So far we've been fortunate. B & SIL have opens their hearts and home to us.

Caitlyn decided to go swimming today. So I had to go by Walmart and thankfully they had a few swimsuits left.

We weren't required to carry flood insurance since we weren't in the 100 year flood plain (this has been deemed a 500 year flood). So we'll have to wait to see what kind of assistance is offered. What ever the case we'll survive.

State Farm is supposed to send a wrecker over in the next few days to tow the two cars. Hopefully, they won't take forever to get us paid. It's a pain in the a$$ putting 4 adults, a dobie and a cat in a Mustang.
