I'm hankering for a good cheeseburger...may have to break out the grill this winter and make my own....had a spectacularly crappy one the other day....maybe a trip to Fudruckers is due....my chitty memory suggests they did an ok burger.....I do like Ted's ....a lot, but it is a bit of a trip....and I sorta hate getting a $50 bill for two burgers and drinks.....Red Robin used to be ok, too....didn't it? Still?

I have been to both in the past year, and they are still good. The stack of onion rings at Red Robin is worth a trip. Fuddrucker's prices have gone up, so it may not be as good a value, unless you drink cheese sauce or make a salad out of the lettuce, tomato, onions and pickle...

I still hit Fudd fuddruckers occasionally for lunch. Decent burgers... I like that you can choose a size.

Reminded me of somethin.. years ago I was in there and the waiter at the time asked how I wanted my burger cooked... he said because they use angus beef I could have my burger rare if I wanted... wondered who told him it was ok.. 😟

I think the concept of why ground beef has to be cooked just went way over his head... Steaks of course are different.. but this guy couldn't grasp it... 😟

The Islands franchise also ask you how you like your burger cooked and do not put warning statements on their menus about under-cooked ground beef...:-k

I'll eat a medium well burger at home but I was surprised this was being offered at a restaurant.. the reasoning is what really got me tho... Is Angus somehow immune to bacteria and stuff..?? 🤔

Yeah no. Beef is beef; when it comes to ground, we're banking that the beef is ground in house. You can typically have a burger cooked to medium without issues most places that serve fresh never frozen beef but the fact remains there's a minute chance for e coli.

I always order my burgers medium rare. I've only had maybe 1 cooked that way. No one seems to be able to cook them less than medium. If the meat is ground in house and kept properly there is almost no risk.
