A few possibilities Frank.

They have a few bottlings that are lightly peated or unpeated.
They use some barley in their malt.
Each island has its own distinct flavor.
Barrel differences such as original use, char, oak forrest.

"the four original & proprietary Bourbons used to create this small batch Bourbon are expertly selected and mingled by our Master Distiller to reward you with a mellow symphony of sweet, fruity aromas and rich, spicy flavors"

so true, so true. Yes, I am drinking a nice pour of 90 proof Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon

So I bought a bottle of Four Roses small batch today, never had it before. Thought it would set on the shelf for awhile. Then there is a run on pouring it tonight. So what do I do? Of course pour some neat with a few drips of water. All I can say is very, very good.

All these people talking about drinking 4 roses, and its past 9 in wisconsin (liquor store cutoff in that state is stupid...)

Then, I remembered I'm not in Wisconsin.... See if the old Liquor store up the road from my grandfather's house still exists....

Bought a bottle of Glenmorangie Original 10 Year yesterday and it came with two sampler bottles. The Original was surprisingly the best of the three. The other two were the Sherry Cask Finish Lasanta 12 year and Quinta Ruban Port Cask 12 Year. Both of these two had a lot of bite and were not impressive at all.

Also had some Fireball...mmmmm

Try the Lasanta again. Try it neat with a few drips of water. It is a fine Speyside. I would agree that the original is good.

I've tried Isle of Jura Superstition and I've got a Signatory IB of 24 yo. The Signatory was only 49.99 from Big Red Liquors about a year ago. Sounds like it was a 1 time deal.

ALSO HOLY CHIT! BUFFALO TRACE IS GOING TO SELL A BARREL TO MY WORK WHISK(E)Y CLUB!!!

Trying to work out the logistics. We're going to pick an Eagle Rare and probably bottle it as 1.75s to maximize value. Typical barrel yield is 180 750ml bottles.

I asked for a Weller. They politely declined without laughter haha
