I've never had any issues with gas station food.

I once got a frozen burrito covered in mold. Zapped it and bit into into before I realized. Yuck. Took it back, they said sorry, get another....but it had mold too....I said give me my money back. I never got gas station food again.

I've eaten hundreds of gas station chili dogs.. I'm fine.. 😟

LOL seems you and I have had the same kind of luck. I have traveled all across the US and it did not take me long to learn to steer clear of it. It could just be my anatomy. My system cant take that high quality of food bwahahahaha. It did serve its purpose for a quick stop and fill. Thing is for me, from that point forward it was Quick stop and release the rest of the trip every time I tried it. 😣 😣 😣

I remember going there when I was a kid...when I saw it in Pee-Wee's Big Adventure...I LOL'd!
