One of my favorite songs of theirs. NEVER gets the airplay it deserves.

Allman Brothers - Sept. 19, 1971 - Stonybrook University, Stonybrook, NY

In about 6 weeks (Oct. 29) rock 'n roll would lose an all-time great.

This album contains one of only 4 known live recordings of "Blue Sky" with Duane.

Metallica - Hardwired...To Self-Destruct...what a return to form. This has been in HARD rotation in the work truck!

Especially these...

Moth Into Flame...This is Cliff approved! This sounds like something off those 1st 3 epic albums. Robert's arrival infused life into a dead band.

Another song that belongs on the first 3...the lyrics are METALLICA! Some of Lars' best work in decades!

MACS...I know you like them...you'll LOVE this!

IDK....I had only seen the end of it...and hated it. Really??? Kia Soul? and hamsters? and Motorhead? I was disgusted and feeling kinda old.

But I just watched the whole thing...and it is growing on me...don't love it, but not sure that I still hate it..lol

Smashing Pumpkins - Zeitgeist. Didn't care for it much when it came out. I like it a lot better now.

A comp disc of Jesse Colin Young through the years. From the Youngbloods to his late '70s solo work. Good kick back, smoke a great cigar and watch the world go by music.

A comp disc of mid-'60s to early '70s soul music. Among the cuts:

Color Him Father - The Winstons
Oh Happy Day - Edwin Hawkins Singers
Grazing In the Grass - Friends of Distinction
Groovy Situation - Gene Chandler
Give Me Just A Little Bit of Time - Chairman of the Board
Turn Back the Hands of Time - Tyrone Davis

You see where this is going huh? Can't remember the last time I listened to this but know I made this when I first started mixing and burning CDs so must be about 12-13 years old.

Keeping the R&B / Soul music going, another comp, this time more R&B-ish. Some of the songs:

Tighten Up - Archie Bell & the Drells
Monkey Time - Major Lance
Soul Man - Sam & Dave
I've Been Loving You Too Long (to Stop Now)- Otis Redding
Try a Little Tenderness - Otis
(Sitting On the) Dock of the Bay - Otis
Tell It Like It Is - Aaron Neville

Iirc, took me a few months to get the song sequence and volume levels correct. Ended up being one of my favorite car CDs.
