You quoted the interview that all the right wingers based their "Obama's grandma said he was born in Kenya" myth, except they stop using the interview after the part where the 86 year old lady said through a translator she was there.

The article shows a transcript of the rest of the interview...which you admit is a convoluted piece of crap...that was the whole point...the article had to show that the statement grandma made to the "reporter" is not bulletproof, and the proof was from all the questions and statements made in the rest of the interview.

and if you had read the entire article...

Actually, if you read the interview excerpts as quoted earlier, it's easy to assume that the grandmother was trying to back track after her first response because she knew that Barrack had to born in America. She even gave too much information (his father was learning) as if she were coached.
If that's the smoking gun, then it sides in favor of the birthers.

Obama didn't just hand over his birth certificate either... He waited until the nation was well divided over the issue.. Hillary planted the seed and he played it as long as he could... 😟

mmmhhmmm.

So because I find it distasteful that someone would put out more effort to believe a foreign birth origin myth about one president out of all the presidents...

You think that's evidence that I in some way "count" my black friends? I don't even know how you attempted to make that logic leap. Probably the same way you decided it was completely understandable how people could get duped into believing an obvious crap interview and idiotic "he was born in kenya" campaign.

We can talk all day about the birther phenomena.
The rumors about his social security card being fake.
The delay in getting his birth certificate.
How his admission form to Harvard is under lock and key.
And lots of other things that supposedly "proved" he wasn't born in Hawaii.

Never once did I consider this stuff was based on his skin color.
And never once did you think it wasn't.

In fact, it requires a pretty substantial level of mental gymnastics to believe it. He provided a birth certificate. Anything beyond that is simply going to extra effort to believe something other than what makes sense.

Your entire argument is full of problems.
1 - you have a VERY interesting perspective that only conservatives would question the origin of birth of a candidate... note you stated "people disliked candidate obama because he's a liberal democrat"... I mean... that's a really weird way of looking at all our presidents as a whole. ... Is he liberal... sure. But there were a lot more people who liked him (many because of that) than disliked him, seeing as he won 2 terms and was pretty popular when he left office among those who voted for him. So your initial statement that he was somehow targeted for this (more than other presidents) because of his liberal democrat stance presupposes that only one side of the aisle would even question a candidates birth.

1.5 - If you question a candidate, and then later a president's BIRTH ORIGIN because you don't like their politics, then you're an idiot. That statement right there means that you aren't going to question a candidate you support's origin of birth. While I'm not surprised, it's a really sh$tty excuse to make and essentially admits that you are just playing a game pretending to care about birth certificates.

2 - You seem to think "quantity" of birther rumors somehow implies that there is any validity to believing them. There isn't. A half a second look at what you count as "rumors" shows that they are only rumors if someone wants to believe in them. I could start 20 weak rumors like that about you today... these are supremely stupid hoaxes with no grounding in reality. To claim that there is some validity simply because of volume is insane. To think people should be excused for believing it simply because there are a lot of them is unacceptable. It is permitting our populace to be actively and purposely ignorant and extraordinarily vulnerable to anyone with 100 bots and a creative writing streak.

3 - When I see people being that purposely ignorant I assume there is a purpose. You didn't question Clinton's birth origin (Hillary or bill) they are both liberal democrats. You never questioned Gore's birth certificate or college transcript. He's as liberal as you get. No one questioned Reagan or Bush Sr (I'll give you a pass on jr), they aren't liberal democrats but I call BS on your belief that it has to be a liberal democrat.

4 - Where do you think this sh#t starts anyway? After it's begun, sure dupes get suckered into believing it because they aren't real bright and someone makes up a bunch of rumors and they think quantity = quality.... but why do you think it begins? It doesn't begin until someone says "Hey! I want a birth certificate from that guy! Something seems different about him... " Sure... maybe it's the name. Maybe it's skin color. But something caused a person to ask questions about him which they didn't ask about other candidates. But there you are just making excuses... "I don't think it was because of his skin color! I think it was because there were so many false rumors about his birth certificate!"... rumors which just magically appeared.

You would of had a leg to stand on if people had dropped this when he produced his birth certificate...
but they didn't. They fueled the rumors... they made new ones... they demanded proof of citizenship from him beyond that which they demanded of any other president before him. And one of the ringleaders is now president. And coincidentally is adored by the nazis and kkk of our country... (not a racist! But #1 with racists!)

It isn't a coincidence that this birther sh#t was widely supported by open racists.

Well if tail didn't then no one did and it couldn't have been race based. That settles it.

And it was obammys own fault. He should have just produced the birth certificate. It sure settled it when he did. Lol. I remember some of the very names in here claiming it was fake and a certificate of live birth is not a birth certificate. I specifically remember it because mine is a certificate of live birth and folks in here claimed to know more than The Hawaii state officials. Birtherism was disgraceful and anyone who ever bought any part of it should be ashamed of themselves. If you did, no matter how small you are an idiot. And you may not be a racist, but that does not mean the whole thing had no racial undertones. You simply had something in common with racists and didn't know it. Racism doesn't have to be in your face.

The same folks demanding Obammys birth certificate (nothing to do with race or him nor being one of us, and an uncommon request) are also demanding Trumps tax returns (an expected and common thing) I'm sure.

Why did you number your responses when they all say the same thing?

I said Obama was a liberal democrat because his detractors were right wing.
You're all caught up in the fact that the slander was regarding his birth. It could have been a more common complaint such as a bastid child or 12 mistresses and you'd claim it was racial because everyone thinks black men do that.
No matter what it was going to be about his color.

And your power-punch conclusion? That actual racists didn't like him either.
Bravo! That totally proves your point...

So tell us.
How many?

Yes. You made an idiotic statement.
We don't need to be reminded that racists didn't like Obama. Or that racists would certainly run with any rumors.
That has no bearing on the conversation.

And thank you for the Trump analogy. If Trump were Jewish we would say they only hate him because of that and they must be antisemitic nazis.

Why dig deeper? To find out what we already know? that racists don't like Obama?
What purpose does that serve? It certainly isn't a point worth mentioning. It means nothing unless you're a race baiter.

Everything is relative. If you equate that with breathing it shows your reference point and it's best just to agree to disagree.

You don't believe birtherism is grounded in racism. I do. That doesn't mean all people believing the birther crap are racists but that also doesn't change the underlying racism in it. Meh. I don't care if you believe it or not. I've seen enough to be convinced it's a fact. Apparently you have not. I didn't want or not want it to be racist. I just think it is.
