Never been a big Jim Beam fan, but I wanted to give the new Jim Beam Black a try. I'm impressed, much better than I thought out would be.

Thanks, Paul. My life, since we met at age 15 (well, she was 16), has been unquantifiable better than I deserve. Hope y’all have a very merry Christmas and happy New Year.

Seems we have similar stories my friend, I am not worthy of my bride of 36 years...but I'm sure glad she stays. We too met in HS # age 17. 🍺

A safe and Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Basil Hayden's Dark Rye 2017 Release

gifted to me, KY straight rye whiskey blended with Canadian rye whisky and Port
interesting, different. it's like both the sweetness of the port and the spice of the rye have both been somewhat tamed yet still appear.

kind of a nice sipper, should go well with some cubans and maduros.

I tend to like Rye more but must say I was not impressed with the basil rye I bought last year. Found a bottle of the Basil Dark Rye though and love it. Hits my sweet spot perfectly and my local actually has it for less then regular Basil by couple $.

Last night at our shop's Christmas dinner:

Sazerac

Since it is now against Corporate policy for the company to buy alcohol at any function, I brought a new bottle of Sazerac and Havana Club 7 rum for people to try / drink.

I'm not a Jim Beam label fan either but do enjoy some of their other offerings to include Basil Hayden, Knob Creek and Baker's.

I was gifted a bottle of Beam's Distiller’s Masterpiece earlier this year will admit that I do enjoy an occasional pour from that bottle. It has a little of an edge to it but believe the sherry cask adds positive notes to the offering.

I personally would not pay msrp for a bottle but under the circumstance glad it is presently in the rotation.
