Not a bad choice rick... If you're a bird lover. Since you won't find a Blue Jay in California.

At least not anywhere i've been in California...

Okay... let me rephrase... I've never seen a Blue Jay in California.

I had'em in my back yard in Spring Valley. I have another variation of Blue Jay here in Washington. They are much larger and more aggressive. Solid black around the head and neck and large crop.

Hello, Nice pic Rick, We do have a different variety of blue jays here in Riverside they call them Scrub jays . Got to love those birds, I Breed parotts here , Macaws , African Greys, Amazons etc. I used to have over 100 of the crittrs but am now down to 25 or so.
And yes the earth did move here today, I was on the phone when it hit I tried to get outside but almost got knocked on my butt by my 90 poung golden retriever trying to get out to. Then my beltloop got stuck on the screen door handle and was stuck in the doorway.
I am pretty used to the quakes and they don't really bother me much but once they get to strong I try to get outside. Regards

Ummm... am I the only one who noticed the "whitey tighty" icon and Rick's desktop? I do not need to know what that program does. 🙂

I get Scrub jays where I live too. Lot's of them. They seem agressive compared to other breeds, except the crows. The crows are the bullies where I live, LOL!

The choice of blue side panels really ties in well to the bird.

Must be nice to get picks like that. I see these birds all the time but no camera with me when I do see them.

In California we have the Stellers Jay, Cyanocitta stelleri which is also a member of the crow family as well as the Blue Jay, Cyanocitta cristata. The Steller's Jay gets a little bigger than the Blue Jay but has many of the same habits and can be trained to eat out of your hand!

I see a lot of Scrub Jays here in Fallbrook and when we go to the local mountains (Palomar, Julian) I see tons of Stellers but have never seen one like that.

What are you doing here Charlie? LOL, It's OK

Hey Dan

I am back on the board, and the Blue Jay pictured in this post is something you will not see in California, pretty much a east coast bird and into the midwestern states!

Hey, I live in Northern California and there is a bluejay in my backyard right now.

His name is Frankie. The gaybors feed him by hand.
