okay no mention of knickers, wee wees, poo poos or bottoms here. For some time I have noticed, especially on Cuban cigars that sometimes tiny sparks emit from the cigar when I am smoking it. Have these Cubans been enhancing their cigars with gunpowder in recent years? If not, what in the world causes these sparks?

That used to happen when I smoked cigarettes, many times. I always thought it was the saltpeter they put in cigarettes to keep them from going out. I hope they don't put saltpeter in cigar leaves, as I notice that some cigars I've smoked burn forever, even without puffing. Others will go out right away, within a few minutes. The tobacco beetle egg theory makes a lot of sense.

It has happened to me too........thought it may be the small buds from that other good crop many harvest this time of year. Afterall, don't you get the munchies after smoking one?

just a thought..could it be the fireworks left over from the beetles New Year's eve party? I think Grucci makes em that small.

now look, go back to the goosebump post, I first mentioned the beetle theory, so I know when beetles are in cigars, especially when I am smoking one and they come flying out of the end like the Titanic was sinking. These are tiny tiny sparks, especially on Cuban cigars on the outer wrapper, not on the inside of the cigar. I was reminding it of it last night when the Macanudo I was smoking did let out a big spark, which may have been a beetle egg. Besides when beetle eggs go off, there is a popping sound with the spark. And if the egg is about to hatch and you listen closely, that normally quiet somber cigar gives off tiny screeches.

I like my beetle eggs over easy with a side of italian sausage....but seriously, tobacco often "pops" or gives off a little 4th of July display. I always thought it was just a result of something burning, just as a fire will pop with built up heated gasses.

Beetle eggs over easy. Hmmm. Just yesterday morning my waitress told me I could have my eggs "any style", so I told her to bring me two eggs Doggie Style. (can't go back there now)

It can be beetle eggs and or small particles of dirt or sand thatr are also rolled into the cigar.
