So the moron-in-chief tweets this...

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump
The big Caravan of People from Honduras, now coming across Mexico and heading to our “Weak Laws” Border, had better be stopped before it gets there. Cash cow NAFTA is in play, as is foreign aid to Honduras and the countries that allow this to happen. Congress MUST ACT NOW!

3:49 AM - Apr 3, 2018

What do you think he's asking be done?
Congress can't "act" while it's not in the USA... short of declaring war.
Honduras can't "act" if it's in Mexico.
Mexico can "act"... but what does he want them to do? Illegally detain people because they are planning on going to the us border and asking for asylum?

This f-ing moron of a president needs to stop making these completely unconsidered statements. He sounds like a child just demanding from the world that things be done his way... without considering how it would happen.

I don't know... maybe he wants Mexico to not allow the refugees through their border, so they can't get to ours?

But it is asking a lot. Especially from a country who obviously doesn't recognize our borders in the first place.

.... the people are legally in Mexico.

not all of them have been legally in Mexico...some have been sent back...

As to what the president wants? Doesn't seem to difficult to figure out -

He doesn't really care if Mexico does anything about those in Mexico legally. Once some get to the border and try to enter illegally, it will be a highly successful circus show for Trump supporters as jumpers and runners get turned back. (Hopefully, none of the Runners will get terminated 'Logan's Run' style and provide a road bump in the news cycle.) Some seeking asylum will be admitted and demonstrate the compassion of the administration towards the downtrodden, persecuted immigrants. This is simply an opportunity for Trump to exercise a little muscle, even if illusory, and twist Pena Nieto's arm a little for better negotiating position on NAFTA rewrite. AND its an opportunity to poke Dems (and R's) for letting Dreamers continue to sweat.

Mexico dealt with the ones which weren't supposed to be there.

Let's break down the situation...
There are people in Mexico from honduras traveling towards the USA. They are 800miles away, traveling by foot, with children... so probably a month away at that rate.
They are legally in mexico.
They have expressed a desire to seek asylum from the USA.

Why is this a thing? If we don't want them, when they make it to the border we say "no" and they're Mexico's problem.

But no... the orange moron has to tweet about everything... he has to show to the whole world that he has no clue what is going on, and dammit he's gonna act the most forceful about it.... whatever it is.

I can't understand how anyone could not see through him to the ridiculous blustering moron he is.

He may be be a ridiculous blustering moron, but he's President Ridiculous Blustering Moron, and his tweets, and even mindless threats carry a certain weight whether you like it or not. The guy tends to get his way a lot of the time -- and if he thinks this is how to get get a leg up on Mexico in NAFTA negotiations, he may well be right --- Taking Trump at face value and mocking him might get you on MSNBC, but if think you are asking honest questions about wanting to understand his motives or intent, there might be more than one ridiculous blustering moron

Not necessarily. He doesn't limit himself that way. It might also depend on whatever someone on Fox News said he should want.

Dsteig... making false claims or irrelevant claims isn't going to "give him a leg up on mexico"... if Mexico and the rest of the world doesn't think he knows what he's talking about, they'll likely ignore him.
So far the only people who appear to believe him belong to a subset that voted for him in the first place.

This seems... dumb. It also appears to be blowing even more political capital...

I roll my eyes at 99% of what he says/tweets, also. But, I think that you're wrong -- I think his 'adversaries' and 'counterparts' do end up bending towards what he think he wants much of the time. Doesn't matter if its EU, or Beijing....Fatty Fat or Saudi Princes....even Putin, perhaps.....if we're able to look back objectively in a few years, we might find that despite ignorant seeming words and actions, he ends up a lot closer to his objective than we ever imagined he might....

I was first to rail against the 'wall', but he may even get that...or at least enough pieces to declare a victory...still don't think Mexico is going to pay, though.....maybe charge those caravan-ers a toll to cross and use the tolls to pay for the wall....hmmm

Why don't they just pay the cartels to "clean them up?"

Point, counterpoint... I'm giving Dave the point, here. Mostly because he made a lucid argument instead of just going with everyone else's program of complaining about Trump.

Just because he isn't complaining about Trump doesn't make him... "right" macs...

That's like saying I'm automatically right just for not going along with people's complaining about hank. And as we learned from the other thread I was very very wrong...

To be fair, I've never seen/read hitchiker's guide to the galaxy. Though it has been mentioned enough times already that I probably should have.

I’m no fan of President Embarrasment but I tend to go simple when it gets to this Fuch. Forget Honduras. He wants the border stronger to stop all illegals. He’s using Honduran immigrants as the boogey man this time.

I’m for a stronger border by the way. I say we plant dolt 45 scarecrows every few feet. For realism and to scare folks away maybe they should be grabbing towards genitalia while puckering lips.
