I had a dress box from 09 that became, after a few years, easily the best box of cigars I've ever purchased. Was rather sad when they were gone. Recent versions seem to be on a decent trajectory from my limited sample (i.e., I buried the box and forgot all about them).

Back on track.......cigars from cabs are "IN THE ROUND" where as dress boxed cigars are slightly pressed.Air circulation could also be an issue. All I can say with certainty is an H.Upmann Mag 46 from a dress box aged 10 years vs the same from a cab is night and day.I have a few left from the dress box(2008) and one from the cab(2008).Gonna hit those dress box 46's again real soon but I expect little change after this long.

So I take it from having only on left that the cab aged better? Extra air flow between the cigars would definitely make sense for a different end result.

And Nixon, if you did still need someone for a split, I would be interested. I have limited CC experience, so certainly trying to broaden those horizons.
