Antisemitism is bad ok? Anti Islam is bad ok? Can’t anyone stand up and define good and bad without the d or r filter?

The MI rep needs to be stripped of all committees and made irrelevant. Same with the other side. They finally did it with King. Far too late but they did it.

Folks your party can be important to you but don’t put it before your integrity. We need to snap out of this.

I dislike hypotheticals much of the time....but....hypothetically....if a non-hijab wearing, white male were to criticize Israel and money impact on politics using the exact same language and tweets.....would anyone be talking about this?

I am concerned by the implications of some that one cannot criticize the nation of Israel without being branded anti-Semitic. Sure, the country is more directly linked to a religion than most...but it is democratic and its actions and policies and supporters are not immune from criticism.

Ds I worry about not being able to be critical of Israel without being seen as anti Semitic as well. But I think in her case she used time honored language that has traditionally been anti Semitic.

And yes if a white male did the same I believe they would be in the same pickle. Maybe worse. I think her background complicates things. It’s why the resolution was held up and modified.

Trump took it on the chin for a few things in this regard. In his case I think some of his gaffs were unintentional or ignorant. In some cases they were intentional by some supporting him but retweeted without thought by him. But there was backlash.

This Congress person isn’t being a buffoon or ignorant. I believe she very well bay be antisemantic. I don’t think trump is.

I use trump as an example but that really wasn’t my original intent.

Wrong is wrong. Forget if it’s your horse. (DS does this more than most and I respect that)

I fully believe that Israel can be criticized without anti-Semitic intent. There's been stuff in just the last few days that is alarming.

But I always find it curious that tiny Israel's every move is so severely scrutinized and dissected. Sure, they are a close ally, much money has gone there (and much has come back in many forms) but for decades virtually the same money went to Egypt without nearly the same value in return. And minimal scrutiny.

The politics and social policies of most of our allies can and should be looked at, as should our own, but am I being overly sensitive when I say it just has always felt to me that Israel is held to a standard higher than we ask of ourselves?

I'm not personally a huge fan of Israel. Not for any religious reasons, or monetary reasons.... but simply from the practical reason that the US should really be very very quiet when people talk about giving land back to the groups that were there before.

I have no problem with being an ally of whatever group seems less evil at the time in that area.... but we really shouldn't be giving anyone ideas about anything being historically someone else's land. That's.... probably not in our best interest. :)

if we start giving land back I could benefit significantly... 😟

Yeah, but so would Elizabeth Warren and you wouldn't want that.... So you should just keep quiet about any of that, right?

Sorry, frank...I'm mostly here just to amuse myself.

Maybe I am so far removed from either 'side', that I'm not 'qualified' to comment on validity of the anti-Semitic label. I have trouble seeing it in others...trouble empathizing (other than holocaust, I guess)....trouble understanding why anyone might have that deep seated bias against Jewish people. I guess I also struggle with it, because it isn't necessarily racist prejudice....or even religious prejudice....I'm a bit at a loss. I don't deny it is quite real...I just can't relate well

This. 👍

I also kinda agree with what Frank is saying if I’m understanding him correctly. I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone complain about the money countries like South Korea and Japan are spending on lobbying in the U.S. I’m not a fan of any of it.

I'm not having any issues at all with anything you've said, rarely if ever do anyway.

I understand why Israel "seems" different to many. Some blindly support everything because they are either Jewish and wear blinders (not all Jews)... or are Christian (not all Christians) and need things to happen to make their deepest beliefs come true. Both have self interest in the mix. And that's a lot of pressure on any country to overcome.

Remove those sets of supporters and Israel is a nation that should not be above criticism to the rest of us. I was only adding that it receives a disproportionate amount of micro-scrutiny.

Phil, you are reading correctly, but somehow managed to add in lobbying money that I did not mention. I can't dispute that either.

I'd rather not hijack the intent of this thread, I've been heard enough over the years.

Bottom line: of course one can criticize Israel without being anti-Semitic.

I support ISRAEL 100% ON ALMOST ANY ASPECT...

AFTER WWII, WITH much of the world against them...
The Hebrew peoples emigrated back to their homeland to set up a country where they could all be safe.
I have watched documentaries about those early days of the new Hebrew nation. They are very brave people who have massive balls and back down from nothing.
I could go on and on about why I support them but...in the end ...I just agree with their plight and outlook on life...if you want to survive persecution..you have to fight with every bone in your body and make sacrifices...

I also whole hearted agree with...if you f**k with me or my people/family...I will f**k you back T.E.N.F.O.L.D....
f**k me again for no reason? I f**k you back exponentially till you stop...

( they are the most loyal friends you'll ever have...
And they pay really well for a successful job)

That new freshman OMAR congresswoman K.E.N.T.
Can K.ISS M.Y L.ILLY W.HITE P.ROTESTANT J.EWISH A.SS
and lick my taint while she's at it...
