Review of danm's cigar #1

A 6 x 50 box press

Wrapper is chocolate brown, very solid cigar with some very minor veining. Beautiful cigar, very nice construction. From my visual inspection I had predetermined this to be the high end cigar.

Punch cut this one and prelight draw was perfect. PLA, none that I could determine. PLF, mild cinnamon and cocoa.

1/3-Lots of smoke, and flavors ofwood, cinnamon, and cocoa. Burn was wavy, and required touchup to end 1/3.

2/3- Not much complexity, pretty one dimensional so far...not that it's a bad dimension, but I was expecting more because of my predetermination. Requires touchup to end 2/3.

3/3-Geting some increased pepper on the tongue and a stronger dry cocoa flavor, cinnamon has faded. Still get cinnamon on retro though. Strength is picking up, getting a bit of a nic buzz. Laid to rest a one inch nub. Took an hour and 45 minutes to smoke this one

My visual inspection of the 3 cigars had me determine this was the high end, due to it's beautiful construction and appearance, but after smoking it, I have changed my opinion and I'm going to call this the mid range. This was a very nice cigar, but I'm having a hard time getting over cigar #2's Necco Wafer licorice...I really enjoyed that. So all that being said, here is my final ranking

#2 High end

#3 Yard-gar

#1 mid range

Thanks danm, and I'm hoping I'm wrong and that #2 cigar is something I can get into my regular rotation....🍺

Disappointed by # 1's performance.

#1 was the high end. Tatuaje TAA 2014.

#2 Midrange PSD 4 cc - explains the unique flavor note. This was a fresh box from last fall.

#3 is a yard gar. Famous Nicaraguan 3000. ZRX gave me a bunch of these, I think in a blind review I once rated them mid.or high, and they've been pretty solid yard gars for the past few years. I like the flavor, but they are inconsistent in construction/burn. This one had probably 3-4 years in my humidor, found it while rummaging around for this trade.

This Talavera from Shaun is spot on. Love the spicy and floral notes. Strong tingly flavor with a medium kick. Perfect in my mind. Reminds me of Angel's Anvil or La imperiosa. My favorite so far. Perfect on a deserted beach with an orange sunset. Am I picking up notes of orange?

BTW, those pickles are great too. I know someone who used to marinate pickles in jalapeno juice. I get a little of that.

Another great mystery trade. Since I didn't look up Talavera or had one before. This was almost as good as blind. I wonder what other cigars are like this.

Seems this may be a limited 2015 release?

Next day: drawn subconsciously to the dead soldier. Still something left. Can't go to waste. Will likely be my last Talavera. Cheers!

I believe it was 2015, thought there were some bundles left hanging around just no jars. Been awhile since I looked on that place though.

Well you probably could've and maybe should've, but since it sparked the whole rectal humidor arc of the conversation, it's now a part of the permanent record
