didn't bother to find out why he was the single nay vote on newly passed bipartisan move to stop the zillion robocalls that infect every American home.

Caught my attention because MA Sen. Ed Markey (D...duh) co sponsored with some GOP dude from South Dakota or some similar place...HA!

Joking aside, what freedoms of mine is Paul protecting? Will I go to jail if I call tailgater and ask if his refrigerator is running?I assume that is Paul's only role at this point. I expect a better effort. Hope I'm proven wrong about him.

Don’t know why either but would just say he tends to actually read whole bills.

No clue, either....but he also tends towards a philosophy that more laws that regulate behavior aren't generally a good thing.

Just skimmed the bill...not sure that it does anything that agencies couldn't do now. But, maybe he has taken issue with this part:
c) MEMBERS.—The interagency working group shall be composed of such representatives of Federal departments and agencies as the Attorney General considers appropriate, such as— (1) the Department of Commerce; (2) the Department of State; (3) the Department of Homeland Security; (4) the Federal Communications Commission; (5) the Federal Trade Commission; and (6) the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. (d) NON-FEDERAL STAKEHOLDERS.—In carrying out the study under subsection (a), the interagency working group shall consult with such non-Federal stakeholders as the Attorney General determines have the relevant expertise, including the National Association of Attorneys General.

No risk of overreach beyond the bill's intent there[sarcasm]

He’s no different than any other politician. Much like trump people are desperate to have him be and project their desires but in the end he serves his own interests.

I have no clue of his specific motives here but in the end he’s by no means special. He and his senior senator are scum bags.

He serves Kentucky well though.

Rand PAUL has gone a little wacky ( and rightly so) afree that congressional softball game that was attacked by the nut job living in a van...and his neighbor coming over and kicking his ass on his own property...

If I was RAND PAUL I'd have a congressional concealed carry permit ( nation wide) and be packing two pieces
( H&K 9MM reworked by eddies grandson or jimmy in the basement of LANGLEY HEADQUARTERS? AND ANKLE STRAPPED DETONICS .45, a Sheffield blade and pepper spray every time I LEFT MY H.U.T....EVERY TIME...EVEN IN MY OWN YARD....)

#4,5,6

I started this without more info than seeing the vote (97-1) so just investigated the name of the dissenter.
Thought it might be a little humorous too.

Though a libturd, I normally do consider opposing views, and Paul will sometimes consider angles I may have not caught.

Even though tw is also correct, Paul may have been looking down the road beyond what the well meaning aye voters considered.

or not.

I'm not aware of this bill but if Paul didn't like I tend to think it has some shady stuff in it. Probably another way for big brother strong arm the people. He's one of the few politicians that actually care about gov't spending and the national debt. I'm a fiscal conservative and glad to have him in my corner. Look into his penny plan to help reduce spending. It's a simple concept but sadly dems and rinos will never favor it.

He reminds me of beaker from the muppet show and is just another politician attached to Mitch’s hip. He did leverage his dad’s career in to a nice facade for himself. A professional political family. (Yes I am aware of his education and the profession he pseudo practices).

In some ways he reminds me of Ted Cruz.

I think he does this mostly for the notoriety...safe way to draw attention to himself...
