Remember the smell of that stuff. Wonderful memories of putting together models as a kid. Testors I think it was.

Recall using Ross as well. A slight citrus odor to it

Never intentionally inhaled it. Maybe once upon first opening to get a whiff. Not to get buzzed.

But I imagine hours at the small bedroom desk had it's effect.

Building a magical replica of a thing of physical beauty and engineering marvel.

It was a dream. And it was yours. Just getting lost in it was an amazing thing

Spent hours and hours when I was growing up, building plastic model airplanes, jets, tanks, ships and cars. As far as glue goes, I remember Testor’s but not Ross’s. Probably did use it, just can’t remember if I did.

Have a couple boxes of various models from an Uncle that used to build them. One of these days I’m gonna have to either build or give them away.

I've got a couple very old airplane model kits I never put together... Kinda wonder what they're worth... 🤔

I think you should build em. Might get you back to a bit of that wonderful feeling.

Hard to find the time sometimes, but you just might be greatly rewarded.

Worth a shot

Had my son build a Messerschmitt to introduce him to the hobby but he was too busy with his h.s. sports to get into it. That proved to be the only one we built out of those boxes.

He'll look back on it in the future and treasure it.

Kids aren't all that responsive when they're young. I know I wasn't.

But those moments are priceless now.

Never gets discouraged and share as much as you can with him.

I know he will appreciate it. At some point in time...

I have a friend who owns a hobby shop....deals mostly in model kits, train sets and miniatures for train layouts...he has an ever changing display window of models he's built going back to his childhood.

We got to talking one time and the value of all the older kits we used to build as kids....don't give them away at yard sales...some of those kits from the 60's and 70's are worth $100s of dollars to the right people, some of them are worth multiple $100s.

Some of the more valuable kits are from Revell, AMT, Lindberg, Aurora....some of the Monster Kits by Aurora, from the 60's go for $700+...so do some research before you dump them in a yardsale.... 🌫

It’s become a lost art.

It’s constructive and engaging. And primes the mind for engineering.

But show me a kid who can do anything else but play video games.

This world needs more kids sniffin glue... 🤪

Lotsa of them are texting when not playing games. Show me a kid without a cell phone.
