Well, I'm off tomorrow morning to Gloucester, MA for some cod and haddock fishing on Stellwagen Bank. First time for all 6 of us, this is a big deal. Forty miles out in the deep blue. Big fun.

I hope to get some good pics so I'll try to figure out how to post when I get back.

Wish us luck!!

Got back this evening exhausted and incredibly elated. Boated well over 200 fish but only 49 keepers. Poor us. Many details available if any are interested.

Oh yeah, we had dinner at a joint where the bartender was Whoopie Goldberg! How weird was that? We loved it even though she wasn't too friendly.

Our party is shown in the last two frames as you scroll to the bottom of the page. Yes we are a motley crew and, obviously from the pics, we had a freekin' BLAST!

I can't recommend Captain Bruce highly enough. The mate, Rick on our trip, was a first-class dude who took care of our every need. If you want someone who is very experienced and has an awesome boat, who is willing to go the extra mile (or 10) to make sure you have the best experience possible you have GOT to book a trip on the Sandy B.

Went Cod fishing with my Marine Tech class as a senior. Very fun stuff. I was one of the few folks who did not get seasick. We caught almost as many dogfish as we did Cod.

Looks like a great time.

Although I used to work in Gloucester, my deep sea fishing excursions on the north shore have all been out of Plum Island up in Newburyport.

Enjoy the fish!

Awesome!

Nothing quite like a good day of fishing.

Yesterday four of us went out walleye fishing. Ended up boating 75-80 fish in the 1.5 to 3 lb range. I caught my first smallmouth bass. Rang up as 2.5 lb, not quite enough for ND whopper club, but a blast to catch.

I have been going Deep sea fishing for years. When my crew and I go we use Clipper Fleet out of Salisbury Mass. Another great boat and crew.

I enjoy cod, haddock but cusk is my favorite.
