If their stated goal is to circumvent a supreme court decision illegally, then it is good that they fail.

SS, IRS and others have to give their records to the Commerce department to assist in the census count... 😟

Right... As I said, a slightly different order...

Obama made the executive action on daca knowing the legislative branch wouldn't pass it and the judicial branch wouldn't uphold it...

Obama himself said as much... But his time as president was up and he didn't have to deal with the consequences...

So we're just going to ignore that the question was there in the past?

We've asked it before. It isn't a big deal... but Obama got rid of it and Trump wanted to bring it back, so it was a YUGE deal.

Much ado about nothing, really. I think Trump is just tired of the dems resistance bullsh*t and wanted to give them the ol' FU and it didn't work out for him.

Yep.. can't give Trump a win no matter what... house dems are blocking the new nafta thing right now... even tho Mexico and Canada are on board... 😟

Not sure you're right here.

As far as legislative, you're right, but if you're going to complain about executive orders to run around executive, we have hundreds of examples from multiple presidents going much further back. To whine about obama's is.... nitpicking.

As for the judicial.... I'm not sure I follow... I can only find the courts ruling on trump's "unlawful" ending of DACA... where did anyone bring a case against DACA to the supreme court?

My phone is dying but I'll look for it in a bit... Obama is on record stating he knew daca would not survive the courts...

If I'm not mistaken, several states brought lawsuits against it, which is why trump announced he was ending it...

and it ends with a whimper...
(I may have quoted someone).

as some of us have been saying all along, and Trump has recently learned, virtually all of that info is already known and accounted for by other agencies to whom that actually matters...Social Security is just one example.

Let the head count begin.

Your definition of "false" is different than mine. And that of Merriam Webster.

2010 was the first census since 1960 that had no mention of citizenship in one way, shape or form.

If you were smart enough to read you would see that the removal of the long form from 2010 was in the works in 2005, prior to Obama.

If you were smart enough to read, you would also see that the Census Bureau implemented the ACS on an annual basis starting in 2003, and including a citizenship question.

So... we have been asking "the citizenship question" annually of about 2.6% of the households, instead of every 10 years of less than 20% of the households.

If you could do math, you would realize that since 2003 we were gathering more data on citizenship, in a program run by the census bureau.
