I wish you could've tried it back when it was a 12 year old.Oh it's still good but the age stated stuff was flat out amazing for under $30.

I keep a bottle of EC Barrel Proof around just because it is the same 12 YO the small batch used to be.With 1 plug it opens to the stuff of yesteryear.BTW this is the only bourbon I use ice in,at 130+ proof it needs a little taming but the flavors it brings out are phenominal

Dayum, if Ron is a wuss then I must be a Triple Wuss. Although I try them at least once neat, I usually drink ALL my 120s and above with a large ice sphere. Man’s gotta know his limitations.

A. Ron knows I love him
and
2. once in a while a few drops of water or an ice cube enables bourbon to open up fully.

Cause I was thoroughly enjoying it until you told me it was subpar!
(Bullschitt, cause I’m still enjoying the **** out of it)
But I’ll be damned if I wouldn’t love to try that 12 year old

bourbon, by law, has to start with a minimum of 51% corn...that creates sweetness.
then there might be rye, which adds a sharp note of spice, or wheat which lightens the profile, etc.

Agree completely. (Though we’re gonna get the frying pan from Britches)
It opens it up. Mellows it out. So that you notice the subtleties in the flavor.
Still love it neat. Sometimes have it back to back. A total affront to the senses

You appreciate the flavor of cigars.
It’s the same kind of experience.
Incomprehensible to the uninitiated.
Yet, delicious to those who are immersed in it.

We’ll have to set up a clinic...
