Barack Obama's family owns a hotel in Chicago. The US is planning to host a week-long international conference with world leaders from all parts of the globe expected to attend. Many hundreds of travelers are planning to attend the event. Obama has just signed a contract with the US State Department to pay for the costs of his family's hotel to host the event.

there is outrage, because this is self dealing...and isn't legal...

so why can Trump sign a contract to host the G7 meeting next year at his Doral resort hotel/golf course in Miami?

Through work I knew a dude with a condo where I wanted to stay. He leased it to folks through a management company. The company took 60%. He told me he would just reserve it for me as if he was staying in his own property. Then he would just charge me what he would have been paid had I gone through the management company. He would break even, I’d get a 60% discount etc.

I ran it through our ethics folks and they said it was a no go for a slew of reasons.

Must be good to be king and to be able to ignore basic ethics and conflicts of interest. Not to mention basic government contracting standards.

Amazing how anyone can support this crap. I underestimated how much the common joes like those in here somehow think they gain by supporting one team or one man so much they will ignore the absurd and obvious. Here is news for ya. He wouldn’t return the favor for you.

he needed a shiny object to deflect attention away from all the dirt being uncovered over the Ukraine thing...it was just piling up after all the testimony from insiders...
