Feels like it took forever to get this thing under control but 2 weeks ago I finally figured it out and was able to transfer my collection from food saver bags (no vacuum) and boveda packs. Also got to purchase my first box (thanks cigarbid) for my second A.J. Fernandez shelf.

I got some ways to go to get it filled which is wonderful for me considering I only got into Cigars almost a year ago.

My current plans are 1st shelf for singles and Cubans, second shelf dedicated to only AJ Fernadez since both myself and my smoke buddy neighbor love his stuff. After that, I am less organized. My current #1 and #2 cigars are Joya Nicaragua 1970 and the Camacho Triple Maduro, so I should probably set up my third shelf for just those. After that is random full bodies I have enjoyed and then leave the bottom shelf of those mild and mild-medium "morning cigars".

It's coming up on my one year anniversary getting into the "cigar thing" which started a year ago thanks to my wonderful boss (and accountant who planned it) took the whole company on a Carribean cruise via NCL Haven (it's the only way to go). We're once again going on the same cruise and I am eyeing a certain La Casa Del Habano that is a few blocks down the road from our port so hopefully, I will have some Cubans on that top shelf soon.

In any case, if anyone can recommend some good high nic cigars (I also smoke cigarettes so I have yet to meet a cigar don't turn my face green.) I would love some suggestions.

Nice setup. I love the JdN Antano 1970's and the Camacho Triple Maduro's as well.

I just recently smoked a Saint Luis Rey Serie G Maduro No. 6 and that thing gave me a buzz. And I RARELY get that these days. It's full bodied too. Has a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper and binder. Might be in my top 10 now. Need to smoke another.

Don’t be talked into buying any glass top Cohibas.

FWIW, many cruise ship destinations are notorious for selling fake Cubans. If it’s too good to be true....

My guess would be St Kitts - the LCDH is in the cruise port. St Martin’s is across the island. Could be Grand Cayman - several blocks away and somewhat difficult to find. Not sure about any in Mexico.

The Camacho Triple Maduros were my first love before I found the 1970s. I can't remember which list it was on but it was on a top 5 list of highest nicotine cigars.

Cigarbid has spoiled me at this point. I've stopped buying samplers and stick to buying 5 packs (minus the box of Desiel 10ths because they have the kick I need) because very few build full-bodied samplers. When I first got into cigars I bought random samplers and found myself smoking a cigarette in combination with the cigar because a specific cigar was too mellow.

One on my wish list I can't seem to get a bid on is a couple of La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero at the usual under $4 per stick I prefer. I hear they pack a huge punch. I am about ready to drop the cash those sticks demand since I fully understand the Ligero is a more prized and expensive part of the plant.

LFDs have some kick but it's kind of sneaky IMO since they're pretty smooth. You generally won't find them too cheap though unless you get lucky. Ligero isn't necessarily more prized depending on the blender's intentions, but does tend to deliver the vitamin N.

I love the LFD Double Ligero's (maduro more) but that Saint Luis Rey Series G Maduro had far more kick than the LFD. It may have been b/c it was a 60rg which they call their toro size. I'm a get some of the rothchild's and see if there is a difference.

many years ago, when I was seeking ever stronger/fuller cigars but didn't always feel like paying extra, I would pick up some El Rico Habanos (don't recall which vitola) or El Cobres.
Think I have the right names...pretty strong smokes. Don't even know if they are still out there, but a little research should answer that.

LFD Chiselitos, those were amazing. Kristof Ligeros. Also a very damned good smoke.

One thing to consider, your tastes will change over time so in, let’s say, 3 years, you may prefer less strong cigars or a totally different profile so a word of caution on stocking up too much on those smokes you deem as your favorites right now. Of course ymmv and you’ll still be enjoying them so take this with a grain of salt.

Nonetheless, good luck in your “cigar thing” as you broaden your horizons.
