Logic doesn't make a damn bit a difference to the never-Trumpers. We will remember whos insanity to thank when Trump wins again.

I'm not 100% in any camp regarding two issues presented by this guy. He was prepared as opposed to being under the influence of testosterone fueled gut reaction which made it easier for me to hear him out. And I get how he has arrived at his beliefs, and can respect that.

I can't and won't rebut his beliefs as an opposition representative as I am not deeply dug in with the opposition either...but I do have a couple of thoughts that came to me as he spoke. As far as I know, these are just my thoughts, I speak for no one else even if I've picked up pieces from others.

My first thoughts regarding the Chanukkah mayhem did not go toward black/white, or as he said, blaming white Trump for the actions of a black person. I understand the current view of some that this President may have aided a climate of tolerance of fringe groups with comments made and not made when many were looking for undiluted denouncing of those groups.

Those situations are a different discussion than this one is for me, though, as the accused's race never entered my thoughts...I see a person living with severe mental illness. Psychosis is color blind, even if one's paranoia singles out a specific imagined enemy. I think that coming on the heels of the the recent attack by 2 black members of an unabashed anti-Semitic sect (Black Hebrews?) may have incorrectly thrown this guy in with those haters in the minds of many.

The other issue is more complicated for me, I'm still sorting out my reaction to Trump's declaration meant to provide more protection for Jews...though I do believe he intended only good by his actions...I'm still undecided if this was the way to help.

If Title VI is about race, color, nationality...where are we to place Jews? Most immediately think religion (not one of the options) but many Jews feel Judaism is simply attached to a traceable bloodline, not adequately defined by religion, nationality, race. Not trying to bring in a new direction to this thread, but part of Hitler's success in building such hatred was to make it commonly accepted that the Jewish Nation were enemies of the state, not necessarily for being adherents limiting their beliefs to the Old Testament. Religion was not how he presented them as the threat to the Aryan Race.

Let me say that I am aware of how inadequately I presented the Nazi attachment here...and I have no thoughts at all that Trump gave even a fleeting thought to this connection, but I'm not sure, at this time, if this Title VI designation could have unintended consequences down the road.

I guess it depends on what your definition of sax is.

I watched the video and was contemplating a comment on it and when I read Frank's comment, decided what I had to say (in part, anyway) was already said.

I saw a photo of the guy in NY and knew he was nuts. Likely the issue, not race.

I think Trump meant well, but I disagree with protecting a specific religion. Had he done that for Christians the left would have lost their minds.
