What about that long lost bs_kwaj? Heheh...

I ain't gone for good, yet, but did find out I got the prostate cancer.

Heading to Hono in July for scans and enemas! Well, hopefully only 1 of those. ๐Ÿ˜ฐ

Start them TrueBeam radiation treatments probably first of August. 7 or 8 weeks of treatments. M - F, and about 10 minutes per session.

Booked an Airbnb up off Hwy 61 in Hono, just north of the Queens Medical Center. And smoking allowed!
I reckon I'll have to pack an extra bag for some cigars... and, well, I'll be there at least a couple of months.

Hey, thanks for the good vibes.

Ram, There were just some travel issues for me flying there this month, then there's the scans, then the 'nuclear protocols and planning'.... and then the TrueBeam EBRT treatments.... I'm taking Orgovyx. Brought my PSA down from 56 to 13, last we checked. And my testosterone is down to negligible, below 1. Testosterone is said to be like gasoline on the fire of prostate cancer.

And dang.. today I got a notice that I already owe them $13,000!! Cigna only paid about $5,000 of the nearly $20,000 so far! And I also have a CT Sim, an MRI, and another PSMA PET Scan coming up and then the treatments!

I also have Medicare Part A.... I have to get that in the mix. I contacted the hospital about that today.

Drafter, I finally got back to Texas for a couple of weeks in May. I was in Plano and Frisco and Prosper... and a couple of side trips to Houston and San Antonio. Had a good time. Smoked some good cigars.

Palama, I'll be busy for the first week, but then have about a 2 week wait before treatments start. Last cigar I smoked in Hono was at The Row down off Ala Moana Blvd and Punchbowl and South Street..

I haven't slowed down on the cigar smokin' and beer drinkin'.... although maybe I should. ๐Ÿ™‚

Palama,

Arrived in Hono Monday the 15th.
Yesterday, the 16th, was my 70th birthday!

I showed up here with a coughing/hacking bug I picked up on Kwaj.
I think part of my lungs is on the airplane floor!
Coughing /hacking is a bad thing for laying in those big round hollow scanning machines! ;-)
Went to an Urgent Care facility downtown and got an injection and more drugs! Helped out quite a bit.

Today was my first two scans. A so-called CT Simulation to put markers on my body for the upcoming TrueBeam treatments. The second was an MRI. I was in that thing for about an hour. The technician guy said I was snoring in there. :-D

Next scan is another PSMA PET Scan tomorrow. After they inject me with some radioactive stuff, or Kyrptonite, or something, that scan takes about 15 minutes.

I think I go see the urologist the next day.

My HR people finally talked to Cigna who contacted Queen's Medical Center, and they adjusted my bill correctly. So, now I owe them $620 instead of the $13,800 they notified me about. I hope they work that out the same way for these 3 scans this week!

Oncologist said treatments should begin Aug 5th and there are two possible options, a 28 day treatment plan, M - F, not counting weekends, or a 40 day plan. I told him I want to go with whichever one will give the best outcome for my situation!

So, anyway, after Friday, and before August 5th, we might can get together for a cigar. I like to drink beer when I'm smokin'... but I don't want to be drinkin' and drivin' here. I can drink a lot of beer and ride my bicycle back to my room on Kwaj... but that's a different story. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

If it works out for you, howโ€™s Thursday, August 1 at The Row Kakaako? Literally right down the street from where youโ€™re staying. Iffinโ€™ you need a ride, I can pick you up. Stinger and hopefully my buddy Homer can make it too.

I smoked couple of cigars there the last time I was here.
That would work out.
I'm on Wyllie Street between Pali Highway (61) and Liliha.

I'm going to make it over to Tobaccos of Hawaii on Beretania before then and pick something up.

Didn't bring any with me. Packing light as I could.. and bag filled up. I'm gonna box up a couple of long sleeves shirts and mail them home along with some sweatpants I was going to wear for the scans. Don't need 'em.

Got a call from the Oncologist today.

After a CT Sim, an MRI, and another PSMA PET Scan this week...

He said he and a couple of other docs there were surprised at how well I'm responding to the Orgovyx hormone therapy pills.
He said my lymph nodes have cleared up a lot, as well as some issues with the seminal vesicle. He can do the zapping on the prostate on a 28 day schedule rather than a 40 day thing. The schedule is tentative, but currently set for Aug 5th to Sept 5th.

I've decided to skip the cigar smoking and beer drinkin' with Palama for now. Taking a handful of drugs along the way here...

But, next time I go on vacation.... Ill be heading back through Hono and hopefully we can work something out then.

Been on taking the same for a few years now. Ask them about Xtandi. Just make sure your insurance will cover, as you are talking $14,000 a month for 60 tablets.๐Ÿ˜จ I started on about 4 months ago. My insurance covers the complete cost.

Wishing you continued success in the healing process. ๐Ÿ™
