I wish you all the best. I do not wish the big C on anyone. When I hear of people being diagnosed, I offer a small bit of advice... Crack jokes. Laugh. As bad as it may or may not get, if you can laugh, it will get you through the days.

Hey... dredging this old thread back up.

My last prostate cancer radiation treatment was yesterday. It was number 28!
The oncologist says I did very good and things are looking very good.
No pronouncement of cancer free.
Just gotta watch the ol' PSA for a couple of years to see how it looks.
PSA should go down to almost nothing... and testosterone should come back up.

Bought a bottle of Chimay Grande Reserve blue label.
Got a couple of cigars from Tobaccos of Hawaii.
Soon as the sun goes down and it cools down... I'll be out on the front patio of this house relaxing.

I was volunteered to be a mule going back to Kwaj.
Carrying a new laptop back to a nurse.
Meeting a friend Linda to pick it up tomorrow.
She'll be providing pizza and salads for us. 🙂

Flying back to Kwajalein Monday.

I know several guys who had those radioactive seeds put in for real cancer and a few guys w benign prostate enlargement that had reductive surgeries...they all lost bladder continence and sexual drive + performance...but the incontinence can get way better with time( 1+ yrs & subside totally after that hopefully)

At first the oncologist said to maybe not ride the bicycle for a few days.
But at our last consultation he said.. sure, you can go ahead and ride.
I bought a new, softer seat here in Hono and mailed it back to Kwaj.
Hopefully it'll get there by the time I get back on Tuesday.
The flight leaves here the morning of Monday the 16th about 7am, but then we cross the International Date Line and it becomes Tuesday, just after 1pm, when we get back there. It's like a magic time machine. We get the same day twice coming to Hono, leave about 6pm and arrive the same day about 3am, and then lose a day going back.

And if Ram had a recurrence, that sucks. I hope it doesn't happen for me, but I know it's a remote possibility.

I also know one guy here who just had his prostate surgically removed. He had a more aggressive cancer. And another guy who had the 'seeds' implanted.

EDIT: Oh, and I did have 3 gold marker inserted into my prostate before the treatments began. Those were to help align the beam with each treatment. However, I don't think that gold increased my net worth by much... 😉

I'm hoping this TrueBeam Linear Accelerator radiation therapy doohickie does the trick for me. Apparently its accuracy and effectiveness are only getting better.

Here's what it's like. But I had to strip down and put on those hospital gowns. And had a form fitting pad for my legs, to hold them in place. No block and strap.

Next up... get another PSA test in January and video call the oncologist.

PSA was up to 56 before we started all this. The Orgovyx hormone therapy pills brought that down to 13, last we checked. Hoping it goes down to nothing by January. Testosterone (gasoline on the fire of prostate cancer) is down to nothing. Gotta take the stuff until March 2026! Over $2,000 for a 30 day supply! Took forever it seems, but finally got my insurance on board with my urologist and a specialty pharmacy.... my first bottle from them is on the way... and insurance is taking care of it... no copay. I do have 3 bottles, from the urologist, that he gave me from some samples the rep left at his office.
