The corona virus to the last virus China f***ed us with? H1N1??

Because that infected 22 million Americans from March to November of 2009 and there were around 4000 deaths, if my information is correct.

Mass hysteria over that one?? Nope.

I think it's fair. But we didn't cancel school if you got a dusting of snow back then either.

H1N1 is a Corona virus. Corona viruses have been around a long time. It is fair to compare them, as it is fair to compare COVID19 to the flu. It is not fair to say they are the same. They are not. Nor is it fair to cause a media sensationalized panic. Nor is it fair for the president to say this is under control, there are plenty of test kits, our medical infrastructure is more than enough, and anyone can get tested. A lot of wrong going around. Nor is it the time to blame anyone. It is time to deal with this as best we can.

If I recall... no mass hysteria over H1N1, although it was national news and there was concern.

And why toilet paper? Has noone heard of soap and water? A bidet? I have running water, soap and a small bucket if I have to wash my ass. Take your morning shower after your morning sh*t. Simple.

Here's what I HAVE SAID...

OVER AND OVER...

IF THE GODDam*Ed chireeee bastids would quit
Living with wild ANIMALS IN THEIR HUTS AND
EATING EVERY FREAKIN MAMMAL KNOWN TO MANKIND...

(JUST LIKE JABBA THE HUT SQUEEZES any living thing INTO A TEST TUBE and drinks it)

THEN the world would be W.A.Y. BETTER OFF...

UNTIL THEN...THOSE DUMB F**Ks will continue to produce "cross species VIRUS's" just like a HONDA ASSEMBLY LINE TILL THEY KILL OFF THE ENTIRE HUMAN RACE...

According to the CDC report of March 2010, H1N1 (Swine Flu) in America killed over 12,000, infected 59,000,000 and hospitalized 265,000. It also killed 575,000 world wide. But the media's love child was president at the time, so we where told not to panic. When Obama waited until over 1,000 Americans had died before taking action, he was praised and called "brave" by the doting press.

How can you compare that outbreak with this one? Unlike Obama, bungling Trump waited until over 40 Americans died before declaring a State of Emergency. Unlike Obama, he immediately implemented travel bans which everyone knows is mean spirited and racist. We must be thankful to the "screaming fire in a crowded theater" press for letting us know that we are now all going to die due to Trump.

Anyone who does not see the hypocrisy of the media, and their desire to make news and sway public opinion, instead of reporting news, is willfully blind and self-delusional.

Oh, and after Trump's declaration, the stock market was up today, and is expected to continue to climb on Monday. The media and Democrat lawmakers must be p*ssed.

so we've learned for sure that politicizing health threats is done by both sides, I guess.
shocking.

anyway...
I have no facts nor research for what I am about to write, so I'll have no comebacks for those armed with proven info showing my ignorance, but it seems obvious to me that most impartial people would have expected we'd know a whole lot more 10 years later. Is this a crazy expectation? That we should be better prepared to not get caught napping and results now should be much better than then?

Is it also possible those epidemics that came before were far deadlier? Is it too early to know?

Is it still possible the two week lag during which we were fed nontruths (and we most certainly were) could still hurt us? Hopefully not.

anyone else see a few Socialist compatible promises being tossed about to help those financially hurt...citizens, not corporations? HA!

cons have to stop believing their Wizard of Alls...

Here are some facts about the H1N1, discovered on April 15, 2009. The POTUS declared a national health emergency on April 26, 2009, 11 days later...

though he looked so lifelike (kidding, he looked robotic) struggling to read the text, turns out we were told nontruths again (if this continues I'll have to use the "L" word) about what he has managed to get the Health Insurance Industry to agree to do...

His claim on Wednesday night...after meeting with "leaders of the health insurance industry, who have agreed to waive all co-payments for coronavirus treatments, extend insurance coverage to these treatments, and to prevent surprise medical billing".
Pence was closer to the truth (how pathetic is this?) when he said the insurers will cover coronavirus testing to confirm or rule out the virus but doesn't cover treatment or other tests that may be required. Everyone should check with their insurance companies.

There was more BS about how we have now cut the Red Tape to deliver antiviral therapies in record time. He was contradicted by Dr. Fauci

Even his testosterone fueled claim to "suspending all travel from Europe except the United Kingdom for the next 30 days" does not include all of Europe as it excludes Ireland, Romania, Croatia, Ukraine, and several others. And it seems to be a non factor in doing more than sounding tough...which works on many of his supporters.

I know some really really really want him to be for real, but he can't stop himself from over-hyping his manufactured persona. Some are under the ether, some maintain a wait-and-see posture, and some have seen this act for decades.

In times of potential panic, leadership is needed more than self promotion.

I think this is the tipping point that effectively ends his presidency. The day he said anyone who wanted tested could easily do so the CDC ran 0 tests, and only 8 were ran it the US as a whole. He blatantly knowingly lied about our medical infrastructure. He blatantly knowing lied about have this under control and our record response. People are dying because they believed his lies. I know of 3. The economy has tanked, it is a technical bull market. I got out of the market the day I heard of COVID19. My money is in gold. 25% is in companies like Purell and Clorox. In about. 2 months I am pulling that money and putting everything back into into a stock portfolio with a few tweeks.

If you think you can time the market you are wrong or you are smarter than 98.2% of the professionals who do it for the biggest financial institutions in the world. I too have moved a portion of my portfolio to a safe haven. (moved, not sold) But if you are not in the market on the few days that really make a difference you will lose out on most of the rebound.

Oh, and make sure you keep a big chunk on the side for taxes if you sold taxable assets because they come due no matter if you win or lose.

DD, neither. Just my plan. I'll post when I get back in, then lets talk. The factors of the 2 month timeline could change and make me get back in sooner or later. Opel, I agree that Biden isn't a good choice. I wish there was a truely moderate Democrat who would have ran, but I don't think there any.

Heh heh....
That’s essentially what I said in some other thread a few months back.
So I ask again...
How in da fuq did we get here???
Trump leading a Republican Party that is more fractured than many believe, but held in together by the ”screaming chimps” (stolen from teedub.....made me spit coffee when I read it)

And the Democrats...........I don’t need to say chit about that clusterfuq.

So now, we get to “choose” between Trump and Biden.
Yaay?

If history teaches us anything, and it does. This is only going to get worse, a lot worse, before it gets better. Whomever comes next, Dem or Republican and then the next person and maybe even the next are all going to be reactions to the last person. The loudest of us. who tend not to be great thinkers are driving our politics now. It's going to have to get to the point where moderates, who right now are busy getting on with life and watching the show with disgust, finally say enough and get involved. Neither party is who they claim to be anymore. This is what we get when rhetoric becomes more important than reason.

I think the Democratic party risks a real chance of splintering into multiple parties as a result of Biden...

If that happens, the Republican party would certainly suffer from individuals defecting to some of those parties that more representative of their beliefs...

If that happens things can get much better quickly.... We'll see...
