Take this with a grain of salt because this comes from Wuhan. They are seeing rapid antibody decline between 1/2 months and 3 months in people who had COVID 19 antibodies. If this proves to be accurate there will be no herd immunity. Also there are many mutations. We here only of the Wigan strain and the Eroupe strain. There is a New York city strain, there is a Chicago strain. And so on. The more we learn the less likely it seems to me a vaccine will work. I think a different route is better because this does have a short lifespan. A cocktail that makes people COVID 19 zero. That can end this If done world wide once available.

And, on another related note, Florida has the top three corona virus infected counties in the U.S.

Seeing as how there wasn't a vaccine developed for all the other corona virus strains...there won't be one for this one either.

The Wunderground Wundermap is showing cases and deaths by county.

seems that steroids have shown some promise as a treatment...

Steroids and a Remdesivir like drug will be in the cocktail Delta. Probably 2 or 3 others being looked at now also. Personally I think a synthetic Cannabinoid with no THC and lots of CBD will be part of the cocktail. Though a science fiction type treatment, I think DNA spike specific nanoparticles would be a cure if doable. Though this isn't anywhere close to reality presently.

I think shroom tea and rub n tug (a.k.a a “Krafty) is the ticket.

Why not vaporize the tea? That sounds like fun times!

I bet the cure will be cannibis related in one way or another...

With plasma from infected people a close second.

I've never been optimistic for a vaccine.

My hopes have been for optimized treatment and I think we've made progress.

Convalescent plasma is our new Frontline treatment but its no magic bullet and it requires donations by recovered patients which is not a reliable supply stream.

I think, from what ive seen, is generally healthy people don't have serious complications. They can get sick AF but they don't die... usually. They'll be facing long term issues from lung damage, but can survive.

If you're diabetic, obese, on dialysis, or any other long term high inflammatory condition, you're gonna have a bad time. From what ive seen, these are the groups that die, or come close. Not saying if youre not in there that you're free to go, weve had a few early 20's with no history end up in the refrigerated trailers. But the majority that die are the ones who's bodies have no fight left in them. We discharged several 90+ year olds as rcovered. We had a 103 year old positive who made it back to the nursing home at baseline function.

No recovered patient has said that was nothing.

Even after recovery and ok to return to work, the doctors and nurses and cnas and rad techs and respiratory therapists and pt/ot etc that were sidelined for infection have said its absolute hell. They're struggling to get through a shift, exhausted by the walk into work. And thats likely gonna last forever. The physical damage the virus causes doesn't go away.

Dan is spot on. Dan, some do recover from the autoimmune issues. I have. Though I did have a rather particular set of positive circumstance. I take Xarelto, I dropped a lot of weight, I am physically an anomaly for a 60 year old. Even thought it was hell, I never decreased my workout while sick, I take an acid reducer that has femidorien in it. Wrong name I know. I drink lots of green tea as an antiflammatory, I take a few other natural antiflammatories, I had dropped enough weight that I was no longer diabetic. My heart issues are absolutly controlled. I only eat unprocessed food, fruit, vegetables, meat, ancient whole grains. Low carbs per day, 100. And more. Also I properly hydrate at all times, no caffine, low sodium level. No red meat. A glass of red wine a day. Yoga, meditation, and a little more.

The intelligent decision would be to do everything possible to keep yourself safe.

I don’t expect this attitude to be embraced by today’s society...

Fair point. Why do you think I am meditating? Of course I snorkeled with humpback whales today and you didn't. So there is that.
