Yeah,

It's a bunch of cr*p alright. A retired WWII POW that was held in a prison camp 75 miles from Hiroshimi actually protesting our current war, and asking for nuclear disarmement? He should walk into a VFW and say that and get his ass royally kicked!!!!!!

How dare people protest the war!

Bunch of commie, liberal, Anti-American, losers. They all deserve to die.

In fantasyland... this would be great.

Reality is a whole different story. Oh, stop the friggin' presses... this guy wants peace and Nuclear disarmament. Who fuggin' doesn't? In a perfect world peace could be obtained, but in reality there are people who know nothing other than violence and they must be met with violence.

"To obtain peace, we must prepare for war". Absolutely. We have Nuclear weapons... THAT is a HUGE advantage. If we were to destroy them all, we would give up that advantage and be at the mercy of China, for one, who has the technology and many, many more men in their armed forces. We would also make ourselves vulnerable to any number of smaller countries that wanted to team up and defeat us.

As I said, I don't disagree with the concept... wouldn't MOST people want World peace and Nuclear disarmament? But the cold hard reality is that, at this point in time, it just isn't possible.

I agree with you Mac.

But why is it that we threaten to blow everyone else up if they even ATTEMPT to start making nukes?

I mean, isn't that sort of selfish of us?

If you have a red bicycle with chopper forks, why can't I have one too....because you're bigger and you'll kick my butt? That makes you a bully.

Are we bullies?

Adroomi -

Now you have crossed the line. I have a custom bike with a hodgepodge of Campy components on it. If you replicate it I will kick your arse.

Self preservation adroomi. We have the advantage right now.

Why relinquish it? They make nukes and we no longer have the advantage. If you've got the high ground, do you voluntarily give it up?

WE will not use the nuclear weapons unless we absolutely, positively must. (God I hope that's true)

Others will use them in anger or to gain an economical advantage. Case in point North Korea and Iran. Am I wrong here?

I agree with you Mac, and I don't want anybody to have them. But "self-preservation?" How do you preserve yourself by blowing up the Earth?

How can we be sure that North Korea and Iran will use them? Maybe the only reason they want them is because they see US as the one's that will use them for either anger or political advantage. I mean, so far we're the only ones in history that have PROVEN that we are willing to use them........

If I was North Korea or Iran, I would want them too. To protect myself from the USA. I would see the USA as a threat to me. Don't get me wrong....I certainly don't want those nuts having even a cap gun to tell you the truth.

I don't like them, and I wish we would get rid of them.

We have enough firepower and other things that would could take out ANY force that tried to build them.....so why do we still need them? Why not get rid of all of them and set the example for others to follow? Then we (not US, we don't make the rules, but the world rather) make it international law to NOT have them. If anyone breaks that law, then the rest of the world kick their ass........

They got nukes and we don't... how do you propose we kick their ass?

See where I am going here...? We need to have them to ensure nobody else makes and uses them.

But I do see where other countries may perceive us as a threat because we do have them.

...then why don't we give them all to Canada or Switzerland and let THEM be the ones to keep everyone in check?

Why do we have to be the police? I'd trust either of those two countries with nukes more than I trust us honestly.

The Canadians would say, "Hey Kim, why don't you stop with the nuclear buildup already before we have to use one of these to put you into line. Do you know what we're talking a-boat, eh?"

When we did something like threaten to invade someone due to them having WMD's, the swiss would say, "yodel your yankee asses back to the west before we drop some fire on yourselfs, and let us handle this ok?"
